Looks like a much more athletic, explosive version of Mesidor. He'll definitely at least get reps right away in garbage time games.

245 pounds on the bar, assuming it is 45 pounds. Does anyone know power lifting well enough to know whether that is a good weight for a 17 year old?

Depends on how many reps and sets. 245 is light for someone his size if he's deadlifting. If he's doing other things such as clean and press that's a different story.
