Confirmed Miami (hires) Minnesota Corey Hetherman as DC

I don’t expect this dude to coordinate a Top 10 defense. We honestly don’t even need that to win this league. **** yeah it’d be nice, but I am very confident we’re going to be good on offense again. Beck’s health obviously contingent but if he’s good, the offense will be good. No, it won’t be #1, but again, you don’t need that to win the ACC. Have a very good offense, which imo is very likely, and just pair it with a good defense. That’s all we need.

If Beck is fully healthy by June, and the defense is top 25-30 in the country, we should win the ACC. I just don’t see how the offense can be bad if Beck is healthy with this OL. The last 2 seasons, our QBs have had all ******* day to throw the football. That shouldn’t be any different this season.

His defenses don’t get beat by being out of position. Sound, smart and well coached.

I watch a lot of Gophers football, I thought they’d lose a step after Rossi went to Michigan State. I’d argue the defense was a lot better this year.
This all I needed to see right here

At one point in a game Cam just stopped trying to scramble for a few seconds because there was NO pressure at all. I bet Beck has never had that.

Hopefully their is no adjustment needed to adapt down here. He has never coached south of Virginia. Let's hope for a couple more portal spots filled by the 22nd and the rest of the staff filled out soon. More good times.

Minnesota’s defensive staff was comprised of 4 on the field coaches last year.
Heatherman: DC/ LB
Monroe: Co-DC/ CB
Collins: PGC/ S
DeLattiboudere: DL

For reference we had 5 last year: Guidry, Jackson, Nicholson, Taylor, Salavea. Is there a chance that under Heathermen we shrink the on the field staff to four, and add an on the field full time Special Teams coach?
