All good points- you're not wrong.

But this season saw UM have one our best QB's ever (maybe the best), one of greatest statistical WR's in our history, our all time leading scorer (Kicker - Borregales), depth in the trenches, a 1K yd RB, a dynamic passing offense, a weak (overall) schedule, no away games in (extreme) cold weather, continuity of coaching staff, etc. UM had a lot of things going for us. We had a lot of things set up for us to win the ACC this year. And we did not.

We crapped the bed vs ga tech and yes, Syracuse was good. But we were up 21-0. We were a better team. Period. If played 10 times, maybe they win a few-sure. But not one of those games in which we happen to be up 21-0.

IF IF IF we won out, we were looking at a bye week in the 1st rd of playoffs. Rest up. Practice. Prepare. Get healthy. And then we woulda had a home game in HRS.

The season will do down as a soooo much shoulda/ coulda/ woulda. We had it in our grasp but along came ga tech and the orange.

17 of the top 25 teams lost three or more games this season.

Are they all returning their star QB and RB which makes them so much better than us?

The answer is no. The reality is the vast majority of teams in college football are revamping their rosters year to year with the portal, plugging holes as best as they can, just like us.

There’s absolutely no reason we can’t win 10 or 11 games again next year with perhapsa less explosive offense, but improved defense.
 
The amount of things that had to go right for us to to be ranked 18 is indicative of how poorly coached we are. Best QB we’ve had maybe ever. Elite offense that’s not replicable. Big comebacks against VT and Cal dependent on calls that could have gone the other way. And still 18 lol.

This program is down bad man. I genuinely wonder if it’s ever gonna happen. This seems like about the ceiling for Mario unless random stupid money falls from the sky. We need to be SOOOO much better than the other team to guarantee a win and idk if that’s ever gonna happen.

•This is only the 7th time Miami has finished ranked in the AP Top 25

•The last time we finished ranked in the AP Top 25 was 2020-21 (22nd)

•This is the highest AP final ranking since 2017 (13th)

•This is the 4th highest final ranking:
-2004 (11th)
-2017 (13th)
-2005 (17th)
-2024 (18th)
-2009 (19th)
-2016 (20th)
-2020 (22nd)

•Out of the 7 times we finished ranked, only twice did we finish back to back seasons ranked in the Final Top 25 (2004, 2005 & 2016, 2017); however, only once have we improve the following season in our final rankings (2016 to 2017).

•Only twice has a final AP Top 25 ranked Miami team finished w/ a bowl victory (2004, 2016)

•Only one final AP Top 25 ranked Miami team qualify for the ACCCG (2017)
 
Final AP is meaningless. Bowl opt outs make it just a fun game like the NBA all star game. Playoffs matter. I would think we should not include bowl games.

Thank you. People need to get over brand names and start giving credit to good teams regardless of the logo on uniforms.

Maybe I’m old and remember Donovan McNabb tearing us apart at the OB, but I’m really not embarrassed about losing to Syracuse this year. And I knew it was going to happen. They had an amazing offense and our secondary was very weak. Stevie Wonder could see it. Do I wish Guidry had a better game plan? Of course.

But I don’t really consider this season a failure because it exactly met my expectations from the start of the season. We all said in the beginning we had concerns about the secondary, we figured 9-10 wins, and we weren’t there yet. You can’t win a ship with half a team and I find it so strange that everyone is now saying we failed when we had the higher end of what we hoped for. Stop letting rivals and the media get in y’all’s heads.

I'd say it's fair, so would've two or three spots lower or even higher. Who did we really beat? What was our signature win? We were a score from more wins, but in the same breath the same is true of defeats. It is what it is. The way went out, losers of 3 of the last 4, it doesn't really leave a favorable impression.

We beat Florida, who is now ranked higher than us in all these bs preseason polls.

Agree. While our offense was "elite", look at the defenses we played...not a single defense was ranked in the TOP 30 in scoring defense. We scored 23 against GT but many on here think we would have hung 35-40 on OSU, ND, Penn St, Texas, etc. Just don't see it
