Unfortunately Dewan got hurt and the NCAA used him as a sacrificial lamb. At this point, we pull our bigs via the portal. I think we will be happy with Kidd and Huie and both will be very productive for us.

Unfortunately, Devan’s downfall began before the injury and NCAA investigation. Those close to him tell me to this day his issue was once he committed he stopped working. Stopped doing all the things that got him there. Didn’t continue developing nor improving his game. He allowed his HS career to be the pinnacle, not realizing there was so much more for him to achieve. Some on the outside will blame Miami, injuries, NCAA, etc, but those that know him know it was all Dewan’s doing. No one else to blame but him. Great kid who just got complacent.

I think Dewan knows that too… if he didn’t know that I don’t think he would have been part of the coaching staff last year.
