Thinks miami is the most underated team this year and believes miami will play in a bcs bowl game and golden will be the most sought after cfb coach in the nfl other than nick saban.

lol Mel Kiper is such a clown

he waits until all the other "experts" have made bold predictions about Miami then decides to jump on the bandwagon.

Golden doesn't seem like an NFL guy to me. Can you imagine him on an NFL sideline with a white long sleeve shirt and tie? can't see it.

I think he is being conservative in his predictions.
Particularly the comparison with Saban. Hurlie Brown is probably more sought after than Saban at the NFL level.

I respectfully disagree with you, brother. I think he has NFL written all over him. I don't think there's a chance in **** he bolts Miami for another college gig. But I do think he eventually leaves for the NFL.

Are you kidding?

NFL players would absolutely LOVE Golden. His enthusiasm and energy would permeate an NFL locker room.

He has to win to prove it, but he reminds me a whole **** of a lot of Jimmy Johnson

if you dont think golden is going to look at how the nfl worked out for butch davis, you are nuts. i think he wants to create a dynasty here.

Joe Rose was interviewing Greg Schiano the other day, and I caught myself thinking Schiano, at least in that interview, reminded me of a poor mans Al Golden. Al's level of preparation, and the straight shooting, no nonsense approach he takes to both communication and decision making make him a strong candidate to coach at the next level.

You guys completely missed his sarcasm.

"Can you imagine him on an NFL sideline with a white long sleeve shirt and a tie?"

What does Golden wear now on game days?

Man I hate reading stuff like that. I understand that if he is being pursued by NFL teams that means that he has done some great things here, and that is what we all want. But at the same time I would like for him to stick around for a decade or so and have a great run. Just me being selfish...

Golden just seems more of a fit for the college game...he's a CEO type, not really an X's and O's guy. I'm not saying CEO types can't thrive in the NFL...just saying he's likely to have more success in the college ranks.

Completely disagree. A locker room full of million dollar athletes and their ego's doesn't seem like a conducive environment to espouse core values and the pillars of leadership. A number of good college coaches have tried to make the transition only to come running back to the college ranks having realized their mistake. Golden Al is too smart of a guy to make the same mistake.
