Matthew Thomas update per Denver Kirkland

I think it's different than the Tracy Howard situation last year..... He pretty much made it clear that he was leaving Miami and he never really just played us like some suckers about it. Matthew Thomas says he has some interests in us.... but than he deliberately drives to Tallahassee to watch them practice the same day we are having "somewhat" of a big recruiting event, on Campus.

I understand how great he is but I just think he wants us to beg him for attention which doesn't really sit well with me. IMO we got a lot of talent in to make up for his loss if we don't land him. Kirkland to me is a higher priority b/c of need for young O-line depth and talent.

12 months ago everyone was freaking out about the Tracy Howard interview when he said "I look forward to leaving this city for college". Everyone got all personal and emotional. Its what happens these days.

Looking at the depth at LB from both UM and FSU, it reminds me of how much i hate Reggie Northrup. I hope Duke is running right at him and right before Duke gets a chance to stiff arm him to the ground, Malcolm Lewis comes in and just ABSOLUTELY LEVELS his *** to the dirt as Duke proceeds to score a tuddy. Northrup's a total scum that really just messed with our coaching staff and ended up making our program look bad.

So pumped for the season boys lets get this ish going. Can't wait for the electricity on the board the week leading up to BC

If Northrup is scum does that make Blue scum too?

Northrup wanted the FSU offer, got it and took it. Blue did the same with us and shunned VT.

northrup ditched us for FSU and blue ditched VT for us... how does that make ANY sense at all? as a cane fane northrup flipping from us to FSU is nearly a felony while blue flipped to OUR TEAM how could that make him a scum in our opinion?

yeah i am a miami hurricane fan so im going to go ahead and stand by my logic on this one, its actually pretty simple if you ask me. it seems you might be reading a little too far into my verbiage as well, but thats okay buddy.

edit: after some further consideration, im gonna agree with you. i just love all the student athletes for being so inspirational and talented!!! aw shucks. at the end of the day, who cares if they are hurricanes on seminoles, gators or tar heels! they are all winners!!!

oh wait there are different teams and fanbases for a reason right? to not like the others.

Northrup had been playing Miami for about a month. As soon as FSU gave him a firm offer, everyone knew where he was going. Instead of decommitting like a man, he dragged it out so he can do his even lamer version of a hat toss on tv. Blue never got his Miami until NSD after Northrup ditched us. I don't see the comparison. Miami was short on offers and Northrup basically held them hostage. Kudos for the staff actually having a backup plan unlike in years past where we would get nothing when he struck out on NSD.
 
Blue is about 10 pounds lighter than Northrup right now which i feel better about.

I was upset Reggie left because he was already at 225 pounds and Blue was only about 193. Blue has become a monster now so the switch wasnt too bad.

Another major selling point for Thomas so far as FSU is concerned would be that stacked DL that he'll play behind were he to ink w/ FSU. I can't imagine a lb'r prospect that wouldn't love to have that bunch in front of him, eating up blockers and leaving him free to do his thing.

For me Matt Thomas is my most wanted kid for 2013. Second place ain't even close.

According to TOS he was up there because his brother goes to Tallahassee Community College and he took the opportunity to visit FSU while he was there. He's been to Miami's campus several times, so I wouldn't worry about it. Also, Thomas is the kind of kid that does his own thing, he's not going to be swayed by other recruits so the whole family day isn't going to do much for a guy like that anyway.
