Phommachanh, Taisun QB 6-3 196 40: 4.97 SH: 4.69 PB: 35.0 VJ: 28.2 SPARQ: 65.79 (4/30/17 NJ)

Sitkowski ran the same 40 time as joe Milton ran which was around a 4.8 at 6'6 2.15

Sitkowski has some wheels for such an big guy.
Had a 4.45 shuttle time too

For those that care Matt corral is attempting to commit to us. It's not reciprocated at all. As the staff has not even contacted him. Since were not gonna take him (even though he's 10x better than artur) he's gonna end up signing with Georgia or Alabama (who's also trying to steal cade away from a&m)gotta love recruiting. By the way two big commits coming next week...

He has got a gun on him and threw it 77 yards winning at the Nike long ball challenge last week.

Like some are saying, addiction problems will take it all away unless he can get it under control which is an uphill fight every day.

When Butch came back to take over the head coaching job he said he didn't want "high maintenance" kids. Well, this kid looks like super high maintenance. Look, we just lost some DT depth for the coming season with the absence of one kid that has had a history of "issues." Not saying Willis is anything like this, or substance issues, or whatever. I haven't seen anything public yet about why he's out for 2017. Corral is probably a 100X more risky. What good is a talent if you can't harness it because you're always dealing with some extraneous problem? I would stay away from Corral. I don't know what the problem is with Sitkowski, I watched him throw in drills and I like his arm. At least with Artur we know we won't have to send trainers to his dorm room to drag him out of bed because he's in a stupor.
One of the biggest problem with these types is that they drain so much energy around them. A lot of extra work on top of everything else. Johnny Manziel was the 22nd pick of the NFL draft and cannot get it together.

So we have a crappy spring game and our kids want to jump ****. Teams have ****ty seasons offensively/defensively and they commit in droves? Seems legit

That's the logic this moron ****kowski tried to sell to these kids. I told his father shut him up or I'm gonna fck him up. Moron isn't smart enough to realize our starter just left all our kids that went to the draft were getting prepared for the draft, seniors off the team,Walton held out, injuries on the online, only two receivers we even had with experience was brax & ahmon, none of the new class & against one of the best defenses in the country with qbs who we know will never touch the field here (on top of u don't show sht in a spring game) none of this kids mouth was necessary!

Dee don't want to get personal but did you play for the Canes? If so what position. And you still have family playing there now.Again don't mean to pry and it's cool if you don't answer. You just sound very knowledgeable about things and very connected to what's going on.

I'm new on here so I'm probably asking a question everyone knows the answer to already.

LB during the Butch era I believe.

We had a LB from Brooklyn in the early 2000's. I don't want to say anymore because maybe he doesn't want to be known. I don't know. RVA kind of let it out of the bag. I was trying to think of all the Brooklyn players I remembered and I thought of Steve McGuire and Robert Bass, but I forgot Dee.

Saw his business websites with photos of wallpaper that looks like the weekly grocery ads from the Giant Food chain in the D.C. area. I would recognize those anywhere.

Back in the day the people on Grassy were not too kind to him during his UM days. He showed them with a long NFL career...if I've got the right guy. I still remember his hits in the national all star game, maybe it was the Army All-America game. I think there was only one national game like that back then.

I go back to watching HS all star games when there was no national all-star game, just interstate like Ga-Fla, Big 33 (Pennsylvania vs. Maryland, or Ohio, or some other state all star team). I remember when they had the Cali-Florida game.

If so, fck that kid. Why are we still recruiting him under those circumstances?

Hard to understand your cryptic message.

So, he's not Leon?

That would be logical conjecture given that we have not had a lot of players from Brooklyn and I can only think of one LB from the Butch era who had a Brooklyn connection. As a matter of fact, I don't remember if Leon was recruited by Butch or came in after Butch left. Poor Leon was subject to ongoing abuse from our fans on Grassy for quite some time. Despite the fact he was perhaps the highest rated HS LB when we recruited him he never seemed to measure up to his predecessor, who i guess was Vilma. It got so bad that even Leon's mom was posting defending her son on that board. I felt sorry for him. I'm glad he seemed to have a decent NFL career that lasted longer than most.

By the way, I saw somewhere that you said you grew up with the sons of the owner of Lum's. What part of Miami were you from and when did you go to high school? I'm probably an old timer. Started following the Canes as a small kid in the mid-50's and left south Florida in '63, while I was still in HS. To say that things have changed is an understatement. It seems 3/4 of the major HS football programs did not even exist when I left. Schools were just on the verge of integrating. Most top athletes were white, at least as far the media and attention. A while back I think I posted a link to a website with some Orange Bowl history. It had a copy of the All-City team from the mid-60's. One of the top DL's was Willis McGahee's father. There were a few African-American players scattered among the players honored, but it was mostly white.

Yes. umhurricane2511 posted Leon's name as a possibility and someone shot it down, maybe Dee???

As for me, I was born and raised in Miami Beach and graduated high school in 1984. My family moved to the Beach from Brooklyn in the 1940's and I guess I'd say they're very tied in to what I would consider old school ****** Miami Beach. They're still there. My parents still live in the same house I grew up in.

I left Miami to go to school in DC. I believe you live near there? My kids are in that area too and I live in Richmond, Virginia ("RVA")

I'm a lot older than you. Where'd you go to school in D.C.? What field? I figured Richmond, must have been something you said somewhere. I wish we could recruit more from Virginia, there's good talent in the state. A friend of mine from northern Virginia is coaching a kid in northern Virginia who is a tall LB who can really run. He talked to Rumph, a friend who knows the athletic staff better than I do sent the name down but I've seen no indication of interest. I guess they prefer the Florida, especially south Florida kids, because they see them more and know them better. They know the kind of coaching they get and their competition.

There's always some talent in the Tidewater area and other parts of the state. A lot of colleges recruit Virginia but we can't seem to make many inroads. If Rumph has the geographic responsibility I don't know that he has any particular relationship to this part of the country. At least with Curtis Johnson and Louisiana he knew the area and could pull kids like Ed Reed, Reggie Wayne, etc.

I'm not going to complain. If we continue to dominate south Florida we'll be competitive at the highest level. What concerns me is when the schools like Alabaga start coming in with promises of immediate riches. Look at the Jobe-Frierson threads.

Where'd you grow up on the beach? I lived all over the beach at different times, except South Beach. Lived in Bay Harbor until we moved in '63. Beach High played their home games at Flamingo Park and sucked. That was then. I guess they have some good players now and then, but I never hear of them having among the better teams. So many more schools now. Most of the Dade and Broward prospects come out of schools that were not around when I was a teenager.

I think he meant to validate him as a recruit.
I wish they would make a run at Fields.

I understand. I'm just saying from our perspective it's irrelevant. He just is what he is. Either way Perry or Weldon will hold down the fort for the next 4-5 years than tai will be coming in for 2020... wait till you see tai as a finished product.

As I've attempted to explain to people in the past on here very rarely are those measurements accurate in camp settings... He's bigger & significantly faster than that. The majority of info on him comes from either his 8th or 9th grade years.**** be here for paradise & you'll see.

He hasn't ran the 40 in **** near 2 years. They just list the last one posted which was from his 8th grade year.

Wow. You are saying this whole wave of decommits and wavering can be traced directly to sits?

If so, fck that kid. Why are we still recruiting him under those circumstances?

I'm only repeating what I believe Dee has stated or what has been stated on the board.
We thought he was that guy from Brooklyn but apparently he's not.

Since your an old school fan I'll give you a caveat I don't give others. #1 everyone simply assumes when I was coming out of high school that it was from Brooklyn. #2 my father started on the same team as Burgess Owens. That's the last time I'm gonna talk bout this stuff. That's probably too much. I get my amusement from watching everyone guess who I am. Out of all this time I've only seen 2 people get it right.

Yes

Why would Jobe or Frierson care about what Sitkowski thinks?

If Sits thinks we are garbage and recruiting against us then:

1. Why would he still be committed to us and not commit somewhere else?
2. Why would the staff still accept his commitment and not dump him??
3. What's his motive? Why would he want other top commits to drop us? Is he trying to recruit our class to another school?

I don't doubt that he may have said some ****, but the story does not add up...

OK, honest question for Dee, as I believe you have tremendous insight into this issue for the Class of 2018.

WHAT DO YOU PERSONALLY THINK WE SHOULD WE DO (and/or what do you think the coaches will do)?

1. Stick with Sitkowski, hope for the best (solid senior year, maturity, takes Richt's coaching well, either never plays because of Perry or eventually earns a spot)
2. Take a chance with Corral
3. Throw a Hail Mary and try to get into the mix with Fields
4. Go after someone completely different
5. Some combination of multiple answers above
6. None of the above, double-down on 2019 and 2020 efforts.

I would assume that if we go with #6 above, our primary guys to be relied upon are Perry and Weldon.
