Mathis decommits

You can say that about any linebacker.

16 tackles is 16 tackles especially at the level he plays at.

Everyone tackles about sideline to sideline but can he get off a block and disengage?

Can he diagnose plays?

Will he over run his run fit?

If he did he injured earlier in the year, he was on pace to break Texas Career tackles record. We are talking Texas HS football.
😭😭😭😭, we are talking about 2 different recruits. I'm talking about the guy from NJ you are talking about the kid from Texas. When it comes with the kid from Texas, it is a good strategic move. You get your foot in a big Texas highschool that produces good football players and he is not that bad of a take if UM is able to surround with some quality prospect at the LB position.

He also had plenty of plays were he looked to give up on or couldn't even put him self in position to make a play because he was to slow in getting to the edge. I'm not gonna keep arguing with you. You can talk about how many tackles he get gets but it does not change the fact he does not chase people down and that on a lot of plays he gives up on or flat out loses leverage because he is to slow. Learn to watch a game and determine how certain traits and actions can or can not translate to the next level.
In the game vs Katy, Flagg was all over the field! 16 tackles.. Dude got hurt and could barely even run and was still in the game...

Give me a Mike that's all over the field in every game ! He doesn't go missing during games

Cave too small? This site always delivers.
Cave too small at 6’1, 215?

Wanna know bad recruiters.... they are awaiting the commitments of a kid from California (#1 recruit and Clemson lean) and Wakulla to fill their lb board .

Oh the rookies...
One can hope they are only hoping for those but are after realistic options

The context of Flagg’s performance against Katy was that his dline was getting manhandled into the 2nd level and you can see the congestion prevent him from reaching the RBs until they were 15 yards downfield. When the congestion cleared he was right there. He was playing injured that game and in the 2nd half North Shore’s offense went 3 and out routinely which wore out the defense and especially Flagg who had 16 tackles.

So the only true and noticeable knock on Flagg would be conditioning from watching that game. I did see times where he should’ve hustled harder but I believe he was totally gassed and gimpy.

Perryman had way more thump that's fact....DP can kill at any level...I doubt Cave will have that same thump like DP but he can play
I thinks he’s an okay player , some of these fans got there caneshades on way too much.....Perryman was a 2rd draft pick and all American type player...TAC ain’t on that level

First off, I was only talking about size, because people said Cave was small. Not saying he will be as good as Denzel. Only time will tell us that. Second, most of Denzel’s offers were off his junior year film. I was still living in the Gables, two blocks from CGHS when he played. Went to watch a game his senior year, and he did not stand out at all. That said, I loved him at UM. Monster.

Put Cave in S.FL, Georgia, Cali and he will have all the offers you fawning over. He plays in a weak division and at a high school that isn't known for putting out D1 talent.

There is a lot of grey area between being Perryman and being okay. As much as I loved Shaq and Pinckney, they weren't even close to Perryman's level either. But they proved to be quality starters, especially Shaq. Similarly, I think Cave will be much better than okay. Barring injury, I see him contributing early and eventually being an impact starter that helps us win games. Kid is athletic as ****, too. So the upside is there to be special.

weren’t even close 🤦‍♂️ i beg to differ?
what round would be “close” as far as an unbiased third party evaluation? would being drafted within 50 players be “close” 75? wants the number? there’s a lot of rounds and players. i would say signing 100 is “close”. espn top 150 to 300 is close. what say you? anyone else? not to mention pick by position. don’t misunderstand me, Perryman was better, but was it “close”?

Shaq didn’t produce at the same level as Denzel??? based on what?? Definitely not production..DP had more overall tackles and that was based on scheme..Shaq had more impact, negative plays, TFLS and sacks. But again that’s scheme related..I’ll even give the slightest edge to Shaq on quicker play recognition and block shedding. Coverage was a weakness for both. This kid cave has the athletic traits to be a very impactful LB and will likely add more strength and athleticism to that frame
