Maryland Commit Hyppolite Talks Recruitment, Official Visits

He may never quite grasp the mental part plain and simple...I thought his freshman year was rough, but that he has been more than serviceable since.

We are thin at LB. IF one of top two get hurt in like game 10 or 11, the real disservice would be then having to bring him back then. He will play about 10-20 plays a game, and I believe is on coverage units (before the year's over he will thump a couple heads there too)...Athleticism may get him into an nfl camp. As state above, the kid may have no interest in coming back next year, getting a masters, etc, etc.

i actually thought that this season we could have added another 5-10 snaps and use him as a standup rusher for instance, but Hill came on board and they are using him like that at times.

Show me an example of a 5th year linebacker being in demand come draft time.
With over 120 FBS teams, and 7 rounds of an NFL draft, I'm sure there are examples but I cant think of any off the top of my head. Regardless, his career is likely done after this year, so he'd either want to start his non-football life, or get one last crack at making an impact next year.

I dont think he redshirted, but Spencer Adkins got drafted in the 6th round after his senior year.

So our argument is going to be "hey, stick around another year making no money so you can potentially get drafted in the 6th round, assuming you don't get hurt." Might get drafted in the 6th round this year if he has a good combine. Either way I don't see the pitch.

He is not getting drafted running down touchbacks on Kickoff. Maybe a UDFA contract but I am fully prepared to see him in the XFL in 2021.

I'm not sure he's draftable or if he will even get a combine invite. I'm not sure what the pitch is, but I dont think it would sound like that. I'm also not sure you understand the sacrifice these players are willing to make to even be drafted in the 7th round? Getting drafted would be a dream come true for most of these kids, a life time of work rewarded. Also I think a chance to be the starting LB at his university would be a major draw for him to stay. He could be thinking "I'm gonna gamble on myself and try to make an NFL roster," or he could think "I'm gonna come back, try to start 13 games next year and get drafted." Neither decision is potentially right or wrong, it all depends on the end result and he's earned the right to decide either way. But if I were the coaches, watching him bust his *** for me the last 4 years, I'd definitely want him to know his options and let him make that decision.

Colin McCarthy? Your "in demand" is subjective.. does a 3rd/4th rounder count as "in demand"?
Imo, yes, that's in demand. Thats busting your *** and achieving your lifetime goals. All the blood, sweat & tears would have paid off. My wife has a cousin in the NFL and believe me, making the roster and getting his 6 figure salary has set him up well and has made him a source of immense pride to himself and his family.

Sounds like a good outcome. He's not getting a big first contract under any circumstances, so might as well get to that second contract (even if in the XFL or elsewhere) sooner than later.

He needs to be the #1 priority for this class as of now.

The entire staff should be putting the full court press on this kid & GUARANTEEING starter snaps.

We need to do whatever it takes to flip this kid, we absolutely need to add him to our LB class to give us more depth & have another legit 4.5 speedster LB with high upside.

The LB Corp of Brooks, Huff, Joyner, Cave, Mathis & Hyppolite would be a young fast athletic group that Diaz could mold into a very good group imo.

This kid passes the grandma test. If even your grandmother can see his talent pop on the highlights, you go after him. Only a few like that every year, and he's one of them. I'm not sold on Patke, he needs to be much more aggressive in recruiting LBs. Just go get this dude.
