Was exceptional.

I still have concerns about Mario. Others have more. But I desperately want him to succeed and still believe he can because of this response. His defense of Cam Ward felt genuine and is a great quote to read. Obvious why he's a good recruiter and I am confident we'll always have talent with him here. Gotten better and corrected mistakes each year. Hopefully 2025 is no different.

Please tell me he said this after the pop shart bowl and not a month later
This was his first press availability since then. It wasn't a big deal what they did with Cam Ward so they didn't treat it like a big deal. It was a stupid unnecessary **** storm in the 24-hour news cycle. miami doesn't give AF. Pretty sure Mario called it 'bull ****' today, too. That's what it was.

Because in reality, it was the perfect move. I'm glad our coach let his player break the record then bounce, and let us all see how terrible Emory is.

Mario is the head coach and can put out a statement to the media whenever he likes. The reason there was an unnecessary **** storm in the news cycle after the game is due to mario refusal to make such a statement.

I don't have an issue with what they did, but how they treated it after was terrible. Cams rep took a hit and mario sat by and let it happen.

Everyone wants black-and-white answers and it’s not necessarily that way.

Multiple things can be true – Mario’s response today was great and it is also late. After his very vague comments after the game, he and the greater team, including the PR part of Miami should’ve seen the **** show that was going on online and addressed it sooner. The end.

Maybe it's just me, but how does this change how anyone looks at the situation? He looked like he would go early in the draft in the week of the game? Um, really? That hasn't been a foregone conclusion since the end of November? And "That's when decisions were made that were best for everybody".

Weak, just weak - from all parties involved in the "decisions" that were made for the best of everybody.

The national media nonsense is just that, nonsense. Who really cares about the narrative around Ward and the bowl game? Not the people who are deciding whether to pay Ward $20-30 million in April. The ONLY conversations that matter about Ward are the conversations Mario and Dawson will have with NFL GM’s.

The media has a job-create story lines so people will pay attention. Stop. Just stop paying attention. When you pay attention you are being manipulated by media members. Remember that. They are using you and you are allowing yourself to be used.
