And I can live with some legitimate critiques of his on-air style. I just don't think that rises to the level of "he's a blight on UM" or "he must be replaced immediately or the Hecht expansion will never happen".

Look, not every "color" guy is Tony Romo. Many people never see the "color commentary sausage" being made, they forget that a lot of the "on-air" guys have a "face-made-for-radio stats nerd" like The Bear in their ears all game long.

Don Bailey Jr. isn't perfect. Turn on WVUM if you want to hear some up-and-comers. But Don Bailey Jr. will outlive and outlast us all.

I think Tony Romo is corny AF so there’s that.

He gets paid to represent the university. He isn't going to go on air and bash the very organization that writes his checks. Please enlighten us with some names of announcers currently doing color commentating for other universities that would meet your satisfaction as a replacement?

My family has been a part of the university as students, boosters and season ticket holders since the 60's so don't come at me like you sit up on some pedestal. You seem like the type of person who isn't happy unless he has something to ***** and moan about. C'mon Ken, do better.

If you think the "blind-homer, former player in the second chair" is somehow unique to us... you're mistaken. Those guys are literally all the same. At every school. It's part of the job (more so than being overtly critical - or objective, even).
