Mario on Joe Rose (Wake week)

If this was a 6-4 team, Guidry would have been fired during the bye week. The guy is a horrible coach and shouldn't be on the staff in any capacity.

I know it’s beating a dead horse but if we are to believe that a guy needs some cerebral Ed Reed Ray Lewis type leaders and field coaches to hold Georgia Tech to under 300 yards rushing with a one armed QB then I think it’s pretty easy to see what the problem is

You obviously know more ball than me but I said it another thread. Do we have 5 dbs we trust to play a 335? And then having 2 ready to rotate? Idk man. I know we’re generally in a 5 db set but idk what the answer is here

I don’t know any ball, unfortunately.

And I wouldn’t be able to give you an answer on which DB’s they feels comfortable playing.

I know id start the following guys at this point:

Free - Wiliams
Strong - Patterson
Nickle - Harris
Field - OJF
Boundary - Porter

False. Mario ain't firing anyone mid season lol. He lives by the bro-code with hiring/firing.

We also keep forgetting to mention that their star RB was knocked out of the game early in the first half.

Saw these stats on ESPN.

What's going wrong? The defense stopped defending. For the season, Miami's defense has taken a slight step forward. After ranking 48th and 40th in defensive SP+ over Mario Cristobal's first two seasons, the Hurricanes are currently up to 35th. But that's down from 21st four weeks into the season. Since Week 5, they rank a solid 34th in success rate allowed (38.8%), but they are 127th in yards allowed per successful play (14.4). In this span, they've allowed at least 20 yards on 9.2% of snaps, 126th overall and fourth worst among power-conference defenses.

Miami's defense faced 64 snaps in its 28-23 loss to Georgia Tech in Week 11, and among them were gains of 65, 30, 27 and 21 yards, plus gains of 16, 15, 12 and 11 on third-and-long. Cam Ward and the offense faltered at times too, but because of the defense, the offense is never allowed to falter. With no mulligan left, the Canes probably need to win out to reach the CFP. They'll be favored in every game (Wake Forest; at Syracuse; and in the ACC championship game, likely against SMU), but they were favored pretty handsomely against Georgia Tech and three other teams they barely beat in ACC play too. They have to hope getting this past weekend off refreshed the legs a bit.

A lot of the answers were coach speak but he did acknowledge issues with being misaligned, miscommunication and being out leveraged.
WTF did it require a FUXKING lost to GA Tech…We’ve all been seeing the same FUXKING bull**** on DEFENSE after ball state game…

It’s not one or the other.

For me it is a combination of both.

After the Damari Brown injury, they should’ve moved Richard to Nickel. After he gets injured, bring Harris down and bring in Keith Williams. He can patrol the deep middle and keeps him out of the traffic and making tackles.

Move Porter outside to boundary corner to limit his lack of athleticism. He was pretty good there last year.

Bench Powell and play Patterson more. Limit his reads and have him playing closer to the LOS.

Bring Baron off the bench and give the majority of the snaps to Mesidor. He’s a much better defender than Baron.

Give Scott, Moten, and Campbell more snaps paired with Barrow. That allows him to be more disruptive if you insist on playing a 4 man front.

Get Mauigoa off the field in obvious passing downs. Pruitt looks ready to me.

Play more zone, like Cover 3 match. Cover 2 is *** here since the deep safeties don’t have eye discipline.

Mix in the 3-3-5 more. It worked last year when we needed it. Guess what, we need it.
BRUV someone pass along this exact game plan agenda to MARIO couldn’t have said it better 💯‼️

People compare this situation to Dawson last year but Dawson had big games against Texas A&M and Louisville and really good game plans against Clemson and FSU. And having a terrible QB is a really, really hard thing to mask on offense. He at least showed flashes with a unit that wasn't particularly good.

Guidry hasn't shown anything even remotely close to competent this year. I don't know how you keep him. He's single handedly going to be the reason you don't win a national championship and that's a hard pill to swallow.

They keep him because Mario doesn’t agree with yall lol Mario has shown he won’t be stubborn here so when Guidry is still here next season he’s telling ya’ll what he thinks. Point blank. From that point on ya’ll can blame it on what ya’ll want

He hasn’t forgotten how to coach, since he’s been able to make second half adjustments to turn the spigot off on the opposing offense.

What happened against GT was an abortion of epic proportions. How you can’t call a defense to secure the edges is just…I don’t know bro. I don’t have the words.
The improvements that Mario’s made this year somewhat cancel out due to the continued struggles on Defense… Unfortunately furthering the narrative of his game day capacity to get his teams ready game in game out throughout the year…It shouldn’t have required a FUXKING lost to GA Tech for him to get into Guidry’s *** to fix the defense.

Look at the names here and then it’s a likely top 4 seed. If we didn’t have just this happened we would be so much fkn better
