We’ve Ran more man coverage and cover 2 this year especially after the cal game then Guidry typically does based on previous years. And have started playing other guys.

Just because the results haven’t changed doesn’t mean there is no “accountability”.

And I generally question what most of CIS thinks the word “accountability” means.

This may very well be what has transpired. And would be par for the course with Mario


I pray that’s not the case, as every major concern or fear regarding Mario as the HC would be validated

This 100 percent. The coaches are responsible for putting the players in position to be successfully and play fast. Guidry has not done a good job of that this year. There's no excuse why our DE's can't set a ******* edge or reach the QB without a massive amount of stunts. He knows Kiko is a liability on passing downs. Get him out. Also he's seen aside from OJ our corners and safeties have gotten abused in man to man coverage. Popo was starting to come one. Also Alston did a great job spying the QB. We need both of those back.

The 3-3-5 is easier on DB's. Let's say the rumor is, we don't have someone to play star or nickel to run the 3-3-5 right now. I thought Pruitt could play the Star, but I am not out there and we have to trust them. Praying they figured out something with this bye. Damari is basically all we have in hopes of upgrading talent this season. I personally was counting on him getting more experience and becoming who the staff thinks he will be. I expect him to not come back playing great immediately. I do expect him to tackle somebody.
 
You gotta think the ACC brass is not happy at all with Mario for that GTech loss either. Because if we had gone undefeated in the regular season and lost in the ACC title game..we still would have got a spot in the CFP at 11-1..And the ACC would have 2 teams in the CFP..but now the ACC is almost certainly only getting 1 team..(unless something absolutely crazy happens). While the SEC and Big 10 are making cases to have 4 teams each. Doesnt make the conference look good at all.

The conference doesn't look good because the conference is not good. Straight up trash this year.

I don't really think Mario cares about the ACC brass but you're exactly right. That game probably cost the ACC a chance at getting 2 teams in and millions of $$$.

As well as Clemson's loss to Louisville.

If Clemson had won out after losing to UGA they would have definitely gotten in even if they didn't make it to the ACCCG.

Also, for all we know he/they have been trying (not succeeding) to do something about it they just haven't been public about it, but with the loss he can't avoid questions and has to talk about it publicly.

It’s because we lost. Absolutely no room for error moving forward. Hopefully, everything has been addressed.

You obviously know more ball than me but I said it another thread. Do we have 5 dbs we trust to play a 335? And then having 2 ready to rotate? Idk man. I know we’re generally in a 5 db set but idk what the answer is here

I just remember him playing almost the stand up backer type role and seemingly having a pretty good instinct of where to be and when

Baron was getting a lot of sacks and ooohs and ahhhs early but Alston was doing a lot of dirty work

Harris was solid last year. Heck at times he played well. He had a lot of reps even though we had two concrete starters

Now he looks like he’s never played football before. You don’t just “regress” like that.

I imagine Mishael Powell is a similar situation. I realize he was probably never an All Anything player, but I also assume that he was playing better than he is now to have been starting on a team playing in the national title game and for Miami to have offered him in the first place.

I thought we lost a lot of talent but thought those guys back there would be reliable enough to let our offense do its thing

Well maybe they should get the message to the refs. When Horton is getting his shoulder pad pulled off for 20 yards while trying to catch a go ball, then maybe just maybe PI should be called. But no, just let the other team get away with murder. We had to punt on that drive. Could have been a different outcome because that was when the offense was in a lull.

Word! GT held the WRs all game. On the 4th and long we went for, X was held in the middle of the flag with no call
