Mario in-game decisions

Dawson had generally a good game, but that pass Cam almost fumbled for a scoop and score TD was an astriciously bad call. 2nd and 3 with 4-5 mins left and they run the play w 20 seconds left on playclock, which was idiotic, and then even more idiotic Dawson calls a pass when they were destroying the D w the run.
Thought Cam checked out of the original play call to that one, but could be wrong

He took a knee at the end. Showed some improvement I guess.

I wonder if they have an analytical guy on the staff telling him when to go for it.

The only mistake I would say is at the end of the first half when he gave the ball back to louisville, instead of taking the big lead into the locker room.
That wasn't the decision, though. We were trying to score.

Only thing I’m curious to is it seems every time a back seems to get into a rhythm and starts gaining yds in bunches out goes that back and in comes Martinez..And I know he had a great run on the TD 👏👏👏 and mad props to him on that but he’s probably the 3rd or 4th best RB on the team and you saw today Fletcher getting yds in bunches and out he comes…Allen comes in and is running great and out he comes and in cones Martinez .if you got a back gouging the defense leave him in till he asked to come out.

Just curious to me and almost seems like Mario has guaranteed him X amount of touches a game..

Not sure I'd condemn Martinez today after some of the runs he had. Especially the TD one. Straight out bullied their defense.

He went for the double move dagger. I didn’t like it but I respect it. This offense is an alpha offense going for the juggler each possession.

The have said multiple times they expect to be in the playoff and play up to 15 games. These kids have never played this many games potentially. They are keeping Rb fresh and “healthy” so far and it’s working. No complaints from me

getting the ball at the end of the 2nd quarter with the lead and giving the ball back to them allowing Louisville to score a FG before the half was poor time management. otherwise, so far we have strides overall
Not his fault, offense failed, he had TO and was ready to double up Louisville he did his job as the head coach.

Martinez is our best back, and he played like our best back today.

Never thought about that but I mean Fletcher had only had like 5-6 caries and was replaced.Allen only had the same 5-6 rushes when he was replaced.
Now I can understand if we were talking about 20-25 rushes a game but we are only talking about 4-5 at a time.Any RB worth a crap will tell you they need more than that to get into a rhythm and if a back is gaining 6-8-10 yds a pop for 5-6 rushes why take him out?

I’m not going to die on this hill but it’s just curious to me that you’d replace a back after he just picked up 20-25 yds in 4-5 attempts.

When you got Cam at QB there are only so many touches to go around. TE didn’t event get a target today and Miami scored 45 on offense. We are nitpicking at this point

Not snapping the ball after the X pass and letting them review it was awful… there was a second play later in the game where the replay operator was showing the George catch on the sideline…begging for a review.

Too slow.

Special teams kicking it to them was asking for trouble and we paid for it. Fake punt caught us sleeping…

That’s a lot of little things in one game, but maybe everything was more rosy on TV vs being there watching it unfold live…

It is now 4 weeks in a row of the defense being cheeks. Every team we play from here on out should attack 25, 1 and 7 over and over.

yeah, i would've taken the play clock down more but i'm never going to hate on calculated aggression like that. totally fair call. you expect your OL to be better.

the two things people have always held against Mario are his in-game decision making and the way he handles his QBs. a Mario who recruits like Mario *and* makes sound in-game decisions *and* let's his QB cook is a very good coach.

This was on dawson, that 1st down handoff and 3rd down lob to X were bad playcalls.
