Mario, Dawson, and Cam cost us the game

And again, I didn't say Mario didn't have a bad game, he should have kicked, even if the FGs aren't gimmes like you seem to assume. And again, the defense didn't get the stops needed, because they needed to stop GT during the first 50 minutes too and had no answer for a QB who only attempted 6 passes. You can't show up for 2 drives and say job well done. Football games are 60 minutes long. Your opinions aren't facts no matter how hard you scream "miss me bro"
Even the stops were GT dropping passes

I will never understand the decision to not kick FGs. I've been on this for a decade and it ALWAYS comes back to bite you.
We only score touchdowns. We don't mess with lowly field goals. We only like big explosive passing plays. Check downs are for girly men. Setting the edge? That's so 1970's. We stunt here at Miami!

I’m with u on the decision making, He was at the poker table riding the hot hand. Cam is/was the hot hand. Mario was pushing his chips to the middle of the table. Look at the success we’ve had up till that point in multiple games. Cam was his “straight” and he gambled. What he didn’t know was that GT had the “straight flush” and “called”. They flushed our undefeated regular season right down the toilet. Sometimes when you’re getting good cards all night, you take unnecessary chances. It happens. He overplayed his hand. Sometimes you get the money. Sometimes you’re walking away from the table wondering, “WTF just happened?”. That’s why they call it gambling.

Im not even the biggest mario guy but im really surprised how much hate he’s getting for this loss lol. I thought the one stupid decision was blowing a timeout after the two minute warning which let gtech run more clock but even then we got the ball back with enough time

I thought all the the decisions to go for it were good, maybe a couple of the play calls were questionable but that always take the points **** is easy to say in hindsight. Nobody has said anything about it all year when we converted, soon as it goes wrong the coach is dumb lol no we have an elite offense and u are supposed to trust them to execute especially with the defense getting killed.

Dawson had an ok game, i thought cam not staying on schedule killed some drives. I think dawson should have gotten more aggressive at times too.

Guidry was just terrible, that to me was the worst run defense here since manny vs unc..At least unc had a nfl qb rbs and wrs, had a top pass game too gtech literally had one qb with 1 arm, one qb with one leg and just whooped guidry *** all game

What is your solution?
If I had one, I wouldn't be sitting on a message board. I'd be retired and enjoy life.

But Mario isn't it. We're not seeing anything different that we haven't seen at Oregon. His players were sleepwalking against bad comp there too.

If there would be a solution, it'd be to stop being Miami - which is loud, brash and boastful. I'd rather have silent assasins on the field that prepare and do their job rather than having 11 individuals talking enormous loads of **** once they get a play right after failing 20 times prior. We have DBs playing like **** and the moment the ball is incomplete in their direction, they start yapping. It's like having a bunch of Eric Rowes on the team - and that dude made me age 15 years.

Maybe. This game is on Guidry's head. No pass rush, can't set the edge, can't stop motion, kids are absolutely lost.
These issues have been occurring all season long. Furthermore, we are regressing, not improving. The talent is the biggest issue on defense but Guidry doesn’t seem to adjust or have a solution, as well. Very frustrating.

Mario chose to not kick 2 FGs

Cam missed dudes all game doing the same dumb **** he’s been doing all season.

Dawson only call meaningful plays when we have to comeback and is the most Dr. Jeckel/Mr. Hyde coordinator I’ve ever seen.

Don’t tell me about Guidry. They got the stops they needed to win the game and at the end of the day that’s all that matters.

Well….. Dawson is trash and Guidry is trash.

A lot of blame to go around.

I don’t understand why we don’t have more planned QB run plays for Cam.

He only runs when scrambling and nobody oppen.
I want to see set plays were he sticks his foot in the ground and takes off without nonchalantly moving around the pocket. He isn’t fast but he can def pickup many short downs with his feet.

I don’t have any issue with not kicking in those situations. Our defense can’t stop a nose bleed. Kicking field goals when you need to score 35+ points every week isn’t a good strategy. If our defense had shown some semblance of being able to get stops, you can settle for red zone threes. Otherwise, you’re trading 7’s for 3’s.

Mario going for it on 4th down was correct both times (if there was a third i missed it, got sick of watching/was on vacation).

Facts man id love to see GT run game at Miami. At the end pf the game Dawson was standing next to Cam with a look like Cam had the answers or Cam running **** which he probably has been! Guidry has been terrible. Idk what we do from here but i hope we pull it together

We obliterated the guy for being a caveman, and for the first time in his career, he's actually coaching very aggressively, clearly using analytics, and not being a robot in games.

And now we're saying he sucks for coaching aggressively, using analytics, and not being a robot. LOL which one is it, fellas??

I agree totally with you. In FULL 20/20 hindsight, sure, he should have kicked at least 1 of the FGs. But he has the best offense in the country. We had missed one 4th down conversion in the entire season up to this game. His defense isn't good. He knows he's going to have limited possessions....the **** opponent had the 2nd longest drive in the history of their school, and they've been playing football since 1892!!!!!

Down 14-10, 4th and 3 from the plus 23, 2:21 to go in the half. The ONLY second guessing I can do here is, you get the ball after the half. So, you really always want to win the middle 8. But it's not like GT had 10 seconds. There was still almost 2 and a half minutes, you're down 4. He was aggressive, and we failed. Go into the half down by 4 instead of possibly 1.

Come out of the half, face 4th and 1 from the GT 39. Go for it is 1000000000% the correct decision. Problem is, we call the dumbest ******* play imaginable. And no, Mario isn't calling the plays. We ran the ball seven straight times to start the half. Then, on 4th and 1, when you are literally batting 1.000 on the season running the ball on 4th and 1, Dawson calls some disjointed half-assed play-action with a 2 man route, and it fools no one. You just ran the ball 7 times in a row, which I would never agree with with Cam Ward, but NOW you wanna throw the ball?? Absolute correct decision to go, ****** play call.

The call to go for 2 after the Horton TD again was the correct call. You want to make it a 3 point game, and especially late in the 3rd quarter. Again, we have a Heisman contender at QB and the #1 scoring and efficient offense in America. Yes, I'm trying for 2 there.

Next 4th down decision, 4th and 6 from the 12, 10 mins to go in the game, you're down 12. You throw a TD, but of course you have 2 penalties on the same play. Now it's 4th and 16 from the 22. Yes, the correct call is still to go for it. Do you know how badly this board would KILL Mario if he kicked a field goal to cut a lead from 12 to 9 in the 4th quarter? Right call, really tough situation, you fail.

Mario didn't lose us the **** game with in-game coaching decisions. We got outplayed. We played like ****, they played a completely clean game, other than a couple dropped passes. 0 sacks allowed, 0 turnovers. But miss me with the stupid **** that he lost us the game with field goal decisions. The dude is finally coaching like it's the 21st century.

Agreed 100%. I was genuinely confused to see him getting hate for the in game coaching for that game

I hope he doesn’t steer away from being aggressive and using analytics, all great nfl coaches use it now. But vs fsu he took the fgs so he seems to know how to balance it with the feel of the game.

Great point. Against fsu, you can win with field goals. ****, you probably need 2 of them. Notre Dame did.

GT already had 14 points in that game, and they were clearly trying to limit our possessions. Running the ball, very short passes, converting on 3rd and short, not taking chances, and draining the play clock down to 1 on every snap. And it was working, because our defense stinks. So you gotta score points. And I'd even be more critical of it if you were trying to be something you're not. But you've got the best offense in America. It's a disservice to take the ball out of their hands to kick field goals in a game you're thinking you need 30+ to win. He absolutely made all the right calls. We just didn't convert in situations we had all season long.
