Mario’s Replacement

That would be up to the GM. Again, what does that 10-2 look like? Do we start the season 2-2 after four games and then rip off 8 straight wins and go undefeated in conference and win the ACC and a BYE in the playoff. Meaning, the team got better as the season went on. Or does the 10-2 look like this season where the team got progressively worse and faded in November and didn't make it to Charlotte and collapsed in Syracuse after having a 21 point lead and now playing in a useless bowl game with a bunch of close call games mixed in? Context is important. The GM would make that assessment as to whether to stay the course or make a change with the head coach or personnel.

But doesn't it fall on the person in charge, meaning the GM?

Just messing with you, because I know you just go on emotional rants with no real answers.

Was going to ignore your ridiculous response. But out of sheer curiosity, who had a schedule that was “all that” without multiple near misses?
What are you like 13 years old? Ridiculous?

Boo ******* Hoo somebody doesn’t agree with you 100%. Our 10 wins were awesome but very close to being the same Mario record. That’s just facts. Our defense sucks and went backwards. More facts.

It’s not ridiculous it’s just a different view than yours. I’d rather you ignore sorry I hurt your feelings it wasn’t my intent. I did say I agreed with you somewhat.

What's with you, buddy? I am answering all of your questions. You wanted names, I provided them. I'm coming up with an outside the box idea so that Mario can keep his job even if things go sideways next year. I'm not even advocating for firing him. Do I think he is worth 8 million a year that he is being paid when he is only half a game better than the man he replaced and has the same record as Al Golden through three years? No, I dont. That's my opinion. No emotion involved. If anyone is emotional its you with your childish, passive aggressive posts protecting a man who is a millionare to anyone who has a non-worshipping attitude towards him. I support the University of Miami not one man. This program is bigger than one man. Are you Mario Cristobal or his personal friend or relative? If you are, that's fine. But that doesn't negate the fact that in three years, his (maybe your) performance has been underwhelming and is more of what we have seen for the past 20 years. 10 wins means nothing if you are in pop tarts bowl. A high powered offense means nothing if you are in the pop tarts bowl. People have not invested in this program the amount of money and resources for the pop tarts bowl.

this feels like one of those posts where the who's who of CIS will....nay, should reply...

So you want a new head coach. Who?

I noticed you ignored the question.

Since you keep bringing up all the near misses as some type of indictment of our season, what team out there didn’t struggle MULTIPLE times against inferior opponents this year?

So just circling back in here. Not many real suggestions? Mario it is then fellas, enjoy the ride and quit complaining about every little thing.

Definitely tons of dudes in here who scream at the 8 year olds and demand “perfection” from their youth team while coaching lmao. Probably also set up those ridiculous parent vs kid tackling drills where the parents smash their kids like they’re Michael Barrow killing Tamarick Vanover over the middle back in the day.

You are still here?

I don’t care about other teams. I look at the close games and a cupcake once in a lifetime schedule. We had no defense. We had arguably the best QB in the country and managed to **** it away.

You know what other teams would do? Take a knee against Georgia Tech. Not kick a field goal against Syracuse when everyone but our coach knew we weren’t getting the ball back.

It’s called the big picture.

You know who agrees with me? The people who left us out of the playoffs. Also…many in here with common sense skeptical of Mario and the season, skeptical but know his job is secure.

Do this…wager on a 10 win season next year as your idol surely won’t let you down. Surely this was a building block or stepping stone of a season. Just prepare for the end of 2025 anal exam.

I will hope away and keep the money in my pocket. It’s called experience.

Edit…we just have slightly different opinions. I hope you are correct. Merry Christmas.

The CIS algorithm had become so predicable you could make porst projections 3 years ahead:
. “ year 3 we can go 10-2 and they’ll be people on here posting about the next coach before we even play the bowl game”

I’m sure something was said along those lines

Like Mario or not I think he's the best fit for us assuming he matures in his game decision making. Any other coach comes in and is successful will just move on after a good season and we'd have to start over again

Where does this story of every single other coach in the country will come and leave, so we better stick with the suboptimal choice.

That’s Miami-ing

I am a supporter. But! I hope he does better with the academic side. Mario was the obvious choice. Unfortunately. Obvious is not always correct.
the biggest issue the Univ of miami will always have is they dont do anything properly. they dont interview. they just play favorites and preselect their candidates based on what a few guys think.

as for Joe, he just has to be better than Frenk which isnt hard. he needs to get the academic rating up and idc that the US news rankings are skewed and have new measuring points, people use those when selecting schools. we look like a trash can of a value with FSU being ranked higher than us.

unless youre just handing out full rides, eventually people stop applying and attending a school that costs 90k

I respectfully disagree. While i understand why you feel the way you do and Mario can improve on his game management, however he & Mirabal together are an Oline Mastermind.

Going forward We will have a strong trench game on both sides of the bal. In football if you can control the LOS You stand a chance to win almost every game
We will have a strong O-line, but some would say our D-line has been subpar. Half of the "aliens" he recruited have transferred to other programs or are not getting adequate opportunity to develop in my opinion.
