Manny wasn’t bull****ing

Yah huge W for Manny. That’s why he was very noticeably silent about Wes committing on Twitter?

No elite lb will ever commit to play in a manny d again no matter where he becomes dc again. Maybe Don Brown will hire him as dc at umass n the worst fbs team can have the worst dc. Don has lost a step but was a great defensive mind and great hc at fcs northeastern and then at umass. Don is the reason umass left the old Atlantic 10 fcs to becoming fbs.

New g5 conference- James Madison, UConn, Umass, FIU, Liberty, and a couple more. JMU n Liberty would dominate but then maybe UConn won’t have to lose to non scholarship fcs team like patriot league holy cross. Umass losing to uri isn’t as bad as UConn losing to holy cross but barely surviving non scholly Ivy League yale and having two fcs teams on schedule is pathetic. On a high note umass’s lone w was against UConn. Both schools made new hires of guys past there prime. Hopefully Don can recreate the magic he did at umass the first time around n not pull an edsall n destroy the legacy he created there
You think there’s a elite Linebacker on this roster? That’s the funny part

We know who the coach is rn. Manny and this staff been recruiting this kid since 2017..they get the credit for the leg work
We know Manny told the kid something better than what we all believe which is that he doesn’t know if he’ll have a job next week. So he either said he’d be the coach or told the kid who he thinks will be the coach. Or the kid just loves the U so much he doesn’t care. In which case the coach doesn’t matter.

To be clear, I’m not one of those people who can’t see the good things manny’s done. It’s just that I’m skeptical about anyone who commits during such an uncertain time.

I feel u man..but you see what’s going on at OU..that **** is not normal. Most kids commit to a school. It’s up to a staff to sell the school first and foremost. That’s how it usually works..lol idk what Lincoln was selling them kids. But it comes down to do wanna play in Miami in front of fam or tally for Wes. And if that was the sell point, a staff has to hammer that home. From all accounts this staff has been transparent with these kids

Thinking it was more school commitment and NIL related

kid committed to the U. He didnt commit to Manny
I envision MD’s last conversation with WB, “son, I’m not sure who’s gonna coach you next year. I hope it’s me. But either way, when you commit to Miami, you commit to the family, the institution. And you know what, I’m willing to bet that Mike Norvel, up there in Tallahassee, he ain’t gonna be there next year to coach you either. Mark my words. Commit the school, not the coach.”

Probably wishful thinking.

I think the problem at OU is that kids, for the most part, don’t want to live in Norman for 4 years. As such, kids were committing to Riley because of his track record. Once Riley was removed from the equation then its back to living in Norman. And for elite players they have lots of options. And when an option became still be coached by Riley but live in Los Angeles instead of Norman, it was just too much to pass up.
Had Riley been hired by LSU I am not sure there would have been as much turnover in the recruiting class.

Chase Smith is an elite LB. Unfortunately for him, Manny was his DC.
Lollol Here tf we go..and Chase smith was my favorite signee. But stop ******* crowning these kids before they have a year in the program..all due respect bro
