Manny benefited from a terrible Coastal division his first 3 years. Once the division started implementing more spread and better QB’s his fate was sealed. He is going to struggle in the Big Ten. I give it two years. He may do good for 2 years. Then once his recruits come in and the older guys leaves oh my
Go banana!I read this in Ralph Wiggum's voice, and I laughed and laughed. Then laughed some more.
I knew he’d get a DC offer right away, surprised that it’s a major P5 program though. I figured he’d end up at a G5 school or a mediocre P5 program where expectations aren’t as high. It’s a different situation from Coker though. Diaz at least has a resume and outside of Texas and as Miami HC, he’s been successful. Coker was a nobody before UM and a nobody after. I think a lot of Diaz’s success will depend on whether or not they have good recruiters there. If they’re counting on him to bring in players, they’re screwed but he can be effective as a DC with the right players. As soon as defensive erasers like Shaq Quarterman and Jaquan Johnson got replaced by his recruits, the defense fell off a cliff.the problem with diaz taking a year off is that if he does so it manifests defeat and he can't afford that unless he wants to be Coker-ed, who never took a job again until UTSA IIRC. Diaz needs to stay in coaching right away so that he remains relevant and a viable option.
i liked him personally, except for his tragic insecurity and hubris, and i wish him well. he made a **** of mistakes as a head coach.
Wish more was like this. Too many bitter women on this site. We need to focus on this U.Good for Manny.. good luck.
