He can thank his buddy Blake James for putting him in a situation where he was never likely to succeed. He was hired less than 24 hours after James promised fans a national search. From that moment on it was always going to be an uphill battle to win over the fans. And losing to FIU, Duke, and LA Tech in his first season probably sealed his fate. Nothing short of an ACC Title was probably going to save his job after that.
This. But also he had the hubris to take the UM job rather than honor his commitment to Temple. He alone is responsible for that choice. In the end, a fatal mistake.

I'll admit, I probably stayed on the Manny Diaz train a little longer than I should have.

I was just so desperate to see a winning team, and I wanted it to work out. I loved how he was one of the first guys to use the portal to grab some playmakers (King, Martell, TS, J. Phillips, Bolden etc to name a few...) I loved the turnover chain and the swag coming back, and I loved how we were really the first to make headlines with the NIL stuff.

I also thought it was a tad disrespectful how we openly kept him around on the off chance we didn't land Mario, I thought it could have been handled a little better tbh.

But that statement is completely ridiculous. College football is a business, you got 8 millions dollars to leave Miami.
You know what else was ridiculous? Losing to FIU, Duke and La Tech to end the 2019 season, never beating UNC, and losing to the worst fsu team they've ever had this year.

Shut up Manny.

Gave their all is correct…..that’s why some players had to go outside the program to get mri’s and X-rays. Playing injured sometimes weeks and being told “ you’re ok”. Then if you sit out games you destroy them to scouts / nfl personnel. Other kids playing with multiple serious injuries then finally getting tests with the results being serious injuries. Players having 3-4 concussions with no concussion protocol, going back in the games. When it was obvious they were loopy.

Hopefully Mario cleans the people out who co-signed this ****ery.
Can I buy an advance copy of the book?

He can go out with his head high, like RIcht.
Or a sullen child, like Golden.

Was sincerely hoping he would take the high road.

Its not too late to neaten this up, Manny.

Vinny Scavo always looked like he'd be better suited laying tile or making hoagies than being around anything medical related. This (and a few other stories I've personally heard) confirms it.

Win. Winning games is all that matters.

If Manny didn't see he wasn't doing that at the level we wanted (that the school wanted)...he's delusional.

The standard around here is natty's. Not coastal champs. Not acc champs. Natty's. He was no where near that with team that was ranked last in tackling.

Win or get out the way.

Who the he!! cares that he is suing or is whining on twitter. We won't remember any of this in a week. Take your buyout money and get out of here.

Manny is the son of a politician.

He is trying to salvage his future in college football coaching.
What does "being the son of a politician" have to do with anything? Any person, in any occupation would try to salvage their future when one loses their job.

Manny, remember when you signed a contract to be Temple's head coach? You were technically their coach for 18 days. During those 18 days, 17 kids committed to playing for you at Temple. As soon as the Miami job opened up and you were given the opportunity to upgrade your job and salary, you ditched those 17 kids who signed on to play for you in Philly. Yes, the University of Miami strung you along while trying to upgrade their coaching staff the same way you strung along Temple and their players while you were trying to upgrade your job. It's strictly business, nothing personal.

This thread ought to be fun to read later. I just read the letter. Im sure its been mentioned, but that 1st paragraph was cringe worthy. Also, no thank you to the fans?
