Malcolm Lewis

My only exposure to him prior to his arrival was seeing him against St. Thomas Aquainas. He had three critical drops, one of which was total can of corn. Shortly after that game we started hearing about coach Golden going hard at him. I guess I started my knowledge of him being kinda jaded. lol

I would say the catch he made on Crawford in the championship game evens that out a little bit.

Lu, who's the "bandwagon" kid in this '13 class?

I think it's fair to say I've been driving the Alex Collins bandwagon for some time. One of my employees has a kid who plays OL for them, so I actually caught tape of Collins as she was showing me what school her son plays for...

Anyway, I've probably overhyped Collins by now. I have him as the #2 player in the state (behind Matthew Thomas).

I think you can point to a few names from the freshman class that no one should be surprised about: Johnson, Howard, Lewis, Flowers, Kirby.

I've been riding shotgun with you on the Collins bandwagon from the start.

I'll be devastated if we don't get him.

Having Duke and him will make our offense video game-ish again.

You've been consistent with Collins all the way through. #2 player in the state is high praise when you take into consideration kids like Hargreaves, Tunsil and Coley.

I guess everyone knows I'm the Coley bandwagon guy; love his smooth athleticism and easy strides. Of the guys on the team now, Im the resident Ricardo Williams guy, and at this point, its not a bandwagon im operating, but a unicycle.

Rico has some things to like for sure, but when you take a kid built like a WR and want to make him a DE, it's quite a task.

Collins is the best back in the state IMO, maybe besides a healthy Sony. JMO though, lots of people disagree haha

Those 2 waged war in that game. One of the better HS matchups you'll see.

His length and first step explosion is what had me excited about him initially. Dont know what he weighs now, but I still hope he can develop into an edge rush terror. I can easily envision him and McCord having meetings at the QB.

Yeah, he looked very quick and explosive. Just having nightmares of what has happened to Robinson and Telmaque after they put on weight and turned into completely different football players.

Obviously the goods.

Your boy right here thought he was the fourth best player in our recruiting class and I'll stick to it (Duke Diggler, Ereck Flowers, Tracy Howard...)

According to Pete he's lost in the shuffle and not in the DE rotation right now.

One of the things to feel good about in respect to our coaches' ability to evaluate, is that regardless of where the recruiting services listed Malcolm Lewis, I know that Fisch and company had him as the best in the state at WR. For him to come in and be as good as they advertised is important.

Yessir. Then when you have an NFL guy like McDonald specifically point him out above anyone else, not just freshmen, the first day they practiced......you gotta like it.

2008 all over, except these players not only have the raw talent, they have discipline, competitiveness, coachability, and maturity. If Aldraius, Forston, Spence, Benjamin, B Harris, and J Harris can see burn in their FR year and go 7-5, I don't doubt we will do at least as well and possibly much better with Duke, Lewis, Lockhart, Flowers, Kirby, Howard and Bush.

Lu,

You were also driving the Watkins band wagon, correct?

Save me a seat on whatever to drive next.
