Major Applewhite

Thus the part about having Briles playbook. The guy has worked with 2 of the best offensive coaches in CFB, has called plays, and has had a top 20 offense when he did call the plays. None of that is chop liver my friend. That's about as good as you can hope for in an OC hire. If we get better than Applewhite we rollin.

2018 was all Briles and that Houston scheme because Applewhite was just HC and didn’t call the plays.

2015-16 was all Herman because he was the HC and “really in control” even though Applewhite called the plays and implemented the scheme.

2019 Applewhite can’t call plays and won’t fix the scheme problem even though Houston ran exactly the offense everyone has been screaming for here and did it rather successfully with Applewhite calling plays.

This. I know he is being considered for OC at NFL Atlanta but guy runs rings around anyone else being mentioned. Has been solid fir a long time. No one ever heard of Boise State before Koetter that's how long he has been solid.

What about dirk koetter

Listening to a certain podcast tonight, said host said that he'd heard Applewhite was the guy and the deal could be done tonight.

Did some digging on Major and Saban. From what I have gathered Saban didn’t trust a young OC to run the show by himself and brought in another guy, it upset Major and they split at end of year.

No, they parted ways because Saban opposed Applewhite’s aggressive philosophy and scheme, you know the same philosophy Saban has now adopted.

Applewhite is not a good consolation, and I'm not even totally sold on Fedora.
LOL you just are ridiculous then as Fedora and Applewhite are 2 of the more respected offensive minds around. Sounds to me you are one the people on here who just need something to ***** about. Those kinds have sure had alot of fuel the last 3 months but that is a changing fast as there isn't single name being tossed around for coaching spots that isn't at least **** good. That is how you know Manny has his **** together - every single name people say he is interested in is a good name with respect. None of these nonsensical Jon Richt / Pat Nix hires.

Last 4 years at Houston....not so crappy.

2015 20th called plays
2016 41st called plays
2017 40th
2018 7th

Coached under Saban, Mack Brown, Tom Herman, and also had Kendall Briles playbook.

Not a horrible choice but not my #1 by any means.
At least need him to bring Briles playbook to the interview.

7 seasons as an offensive coordinator.
Produced 1 top 25 offense.

“Hi, I’m televisions Major Assh0lewipe, and I’ll give you a good offense 14% of the time.”

Houston forced Applesuce to bring in a good OC in Briles. BRILES leaves they fire Applesauce.

Applesauce is no bueno. Anyone that’s knows anything about football knows Fedora >applesauce.

If manny Diaz hires applesuce he will eventually have to give him the pink slip.
He will improve the offense, but not to the heights to get to a playoff

It’d be funny having FSU’s OC’s boss as our OC with his playbook.

It will also be funny when you realize that Major Applewhite didnt get us a top 25 offense and we only win 8 games for the 2019 regular season. Then you'll hear the slurpees say "we have no oline"

Manny following Applewhite on tweetville
Manny not following Fedora or Coley.
🤷🏼‍♂️ Maybe nothing but maybe we got our OC

I will give Manny benefit of the doubt but so far the OC/DC hires are not exciting. DC gets more of a pass since, I believe Manny will be involved there. OC is not the shot in the arm that he talked about on ESPN
