Main reason for defensive struggles: our upperclassmen

Kevin Nelson isnt even at FAMU anymore..but still his rap song was the GOAT..

What could that kid possibly have to rap about?

Transferring? Packing boxes?

about being a cane..He made it before he arrived on campus..have you really never heard it?

Yeah I swear I never heard it. Surprised too because I liked that kid. He wasn't terribly good but I thought he could still he a good special teams/backup for us.

I thought he would be a beast for us...I will try to find the song..it actually was pretty good

Shannon basically did nothing well as a head coach.

You're letting Shannon off pretty easy here IMO.

I dare anyone to name me a more incompetent, unqualified head coach at ANY major Division 1 program over the last 10-15 years. I love college football...I watch a lot more than just the Canes on a weekly basis and I can say with no hesitation that I can't think of worse head coach at ANY program during that time.

Larry Coker???

Coker was absolutely horrible....but Shannon was worse.

And what does it say that the guy who is probably running a close 2nd to Shannon in this regard was his predecessor at the same program.

We basically put ourselves on a self imposed 10 year probation by hiring those 2 back to back. So in regards to the upcoming sanctions....as long as the NCAA doesn't decide that our punishment should be to force us to rehire on of these 2 clowns....we'll survive.

I gotta say I feel bad for a lot of the kids that came here under Shannon. They never reached theron full potential cause of incompetency. Sure there were entitlement issues but Shannon sparked those by refusing to create competition. Dude is a fu king cancer to football. Stay the **** off the sidelines cause you suck. Sorry years of pent up anger at the way he ran his business and got paid to be lazy and do ****.

Jacory Harris, streeter, hankerson (who is low on the depth chart for the redskins), etc, it's a whole list of players that I believe could have actually been good here and made it to the nfl. Shannon was a literal hurricane to the program and not in a good way.

****, go back and look at the entire class from 2009 and 2010 and you'll be underwhelmed. A handful of good players and a bunch of guys that didn't pan out. It's the reason why we're relying almost exclusively on underclassmen on BOTH sides of the ball to win us games.

I'm not a TCU LB coach fan, but he wasn't worse than Coker. Coker eroded what Butch left him to the point we could barely beat Nevada!Coker and Norv Turner are the same guy as you see what San Diego started with and where they are now. TCU LB coach's team showed flashes, but he couldn't coach them over the hump because he wasn't a coach. When Barry Switzer took over for Jimmy in Dallas the team eroded because he couldn't coach!

Both were terrible CEO's. Being the Head Coach is so much more than actually coaching the players. The best Head Coaches make sure every facet of the program is tip top and then they're hands on with the players as well.

Golden is light years better than Shannon and Coker in this regard. It's evidence in the strength program, nutrition, recruiting, and even the whole Raising Canes videos. Things like that got Temple to be a legit program when it was literally the worst D1 football program for a while and it's things like that which will make Miami dominant again. It really is just a matter of time.

Fisch staying here has an effect on the timeline though. I hope we're willing to compensate him if he keeps up the work he's doing. Continuity with the OC is something we haven't had and I think it is a big deal.

I've been saying this for years.......they were both horrendous. It honestly wasn't fun being a fan during the Coker/Shannon era and yes I still watched every game. It was just so depressing knowing these two idiots ran our program for **** near a decade. It's a breath of fresh air to have a solid coach with a plan steering this ship. It's fun being a fan again.

Both Coker and Shannon sucked as Head Coaches.

Coker took us from the best program in the country to 7-6.

Shannon took us from 7-6 to 7-6.

Again both sucked by why exactly was Shannon worse? Coker sucked coming off of BCS bowl births and NC game births. Shannon inherited crap and made it equal crap.

Coker was a far worse CEO than Shannon and I dislike them both. Wish neither one was ever hired, in the first place.

I vividly remember arguing with sigmar and a few others regarding that 2010 class. I even remember his smug thread after Seantrel came on board late. smh

We don't really even need a list to see that the team is composed of mediocre upperclassmen and a bunch of freshmen and lacks that sophomore/junior class. This is why I thought at the end of last year that we were probably 3 years away. The truth is that the offense is basically the same except that they happen to have a couple more important mid-level players and those guys happen to be at the right spots (OL and QB).

When you look at it Randy had a great eye for talent. Just did not do much with it. Not sure how he did not run through the ACC atleast

All the Players Randy recruited who are in the NFL or going

Brandon Washington-NFL
Jimmy Graham-NFL (Recruited him from Basketball)
Lamar Miller-NFL
Tommy Streeter-NFL
Travis Benjamin-NFL
Marcus Forston-NFL
Allen Bailey-NFL
Leonard Hankerson-NFL
DVD-NFL
Shawnbrey MCneal- NFL
Colin McCarthy -NFL
Jason Fox -NFL
Brandon Harris-NFL
Laron Byrd-NFL
Micanor Regis-NFL
Adewale Ojomo-NFL
Damien Barry-NFL
Olivier Vernon-NFL

Possible Future NFL Players
Henderson
Ray Ray
Mcgee
Morris
Porter
Plus a lot more

When you look at it Randy had an eye for talent. **** we had three NFL running backs in our backfield at the same time. Javaris James, D Berry, and Lamar Miller

Four NFL WR with Streeter, Hankerson,Benjamin, and Byrd yet we could not move the ball. And when you combine that with our three NFL running backs we should have been a force.:ohlord:

Puzzling Player to never see the field
Shawnbrey MCneal- NFL

How did this guy not get snaps

I think that your post proves what a poor coach he was. As you say, we had all this talent on the roster, yet we couldn't compete. All of a sudden, these guys graduate/ leave early and they are on NFL rosters. Imagine how good we could have been if they were coached up, motivated, and trained to execute on the football field as Miami hurricanes. All that NFL talent on one team. We might have had a chance to beat some people.

I don't understand why people throw out the talent card with Shannon. It just shows how inept he was. There's Lot more to being a head coach than identifying talent.

Add Robinson to the list of idiots causing problems.

Almost 100% of those classes recruited was an embarrassment to this program.
