I don't want to allay anyone's concerns but this won't be the first time a heavy lean to somewhere pushes back his announcement shortly before NSD because of secondary pressure and then ultimately picks the school everyone knew he was going to in the first place.

should we use that logic with Henderson too?

Did Henderson had a recently scheduled announcement date that he pushed back?

Would also be complete bush league move to up and do this at the last minute a week before signing day. He's clearly been committed to us for a while.

Exactly. Our RB depth is non-existent and we need more difference makers....

Want but don't need McFarland. Smith, Thomas, Henderson, Edwards, Dean and maybe even Herbert are all more important.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to get this guy but considering the injury it's very hard to envision him cracking first or second team and we all know how it is finding RB's down here. Yes, depth would get a little scary if we only have 4 scholarship RB's on the roster but I'm 90% certain we'd be able to take 1 more RB next year who is pretty similarly talented (and maybe open the door to a grad transfer like Tuitt for this year).

Bull****. Our depth chart is very shallow right now. RBs get injured. A stud RB is absolutely one of our biggest needs right now.

McFarland decision now expected Friday ... the reason behind the postponement from his dad

This is trending towards Maryland big time. We are at a huge disadvantage. McFarland's draw to Miami appears to be only Thomas Brown.

It's hard to beat home cooked meals.

Seems like the parents are pushing Maryland.

No doubt he's been committed to Miami for at least two months. Maryland coaches played this very well. I've seen this movie before and it doesn't end well for the out of town team.

Parents should be more worried about his football future than having him stay close to home for a couple of years. Miami consistently puts RBs in the NFL. This Maryland coach is going to bounce the minute he has any success. Richt is here for the long term. The family should see the writing on the wall.

Richt sending Brown in there like..

It just doesn't make too much sense. Brown supposedly has the best relationship with McFarland among college coaches and he's been a heavy Cane lean for a while now. Just hoping the visit just made him think a little longer and still believe Miami is the right choice...

All he has to do is think about the forgetful injury prone cfb career Stefon Diggs had when he decided to commit to Maryland.... Its Maryland they suck, his family is smart, i think they just delayed it bc they dojt want Marylands coaching staff to feel as if they waisted their time doing all that begging.

/ Cane Lock

that maryland coach is gonna bounce, not by his choice, after a couple more 70 point drubbings from OSU and Michigan

if brown is allowed to visit as expected, i wouldn't worry but if he isn't, you'll prolly see a 2-3 star get an offer real quick

LOL at some of yall. Such weak nancy boys. Recruiting ain't for the weak. Kid is all cane and Brown will make him feel better about anything today and he commit on Friday. I am not worried about losing this kid one iota.

I remember you tough guys saying the same type of s.hit with the Alex Collins decision.

Deja vu

a lot of weak kneed rookies around here. he is giving the hometown team the respect of one last look. his heart is going to bring him back to miami in the end. of course nothing is definite but i still like our chances.

Stop it. This would be a tremendous blow. I hate when posters do this, they dismiss or devalue a kid because he may not sign with us. It's a thing to do.

Which guy I listed is less important than Mcfarland? If he chooses to never be heard from again in Maryland I'm not getting worked up over it when there are 10+ more important recruits in this class and 5+ who we're still trying to close. I want Mcfarland and losing him would suck but it's not nearly the catastrophe that losing Perry, DJ Johnson, Edwards, Henderson, Thomas, Dean, or even Harley would be. Not to mention the disaster it could have been to lose someone who had been a more solid commit like Donaldson, Garvin or Deejay.

I think we still get him because I can't imagine him making this dumb of a decision but who knows. Here's to hoping Lamont Jordan doesn't reach out to give him a hype talk, that could be game over.

Maryland just used it's only Head Coach visit to put as many concerns into his head before he decides as an all out push to save their ***. Richt can still visit McFarland. They will have brown assuage his fears the next two days, and then Richt visit to wrap it up. Maryland went all out a mile before the finish line, Miami still has plenty in the tank
