Was hyped going into his SR season and was the top DL in nevada.Committed to USC early but once they saw him outgrow DE and not be as dominat at DT they recruited 2 other DTs and told him they wanted him to be an OL for them. That's when he decided to come to miami since he knew coach Carroll who had recruited him at SC.Offtopic but many thought Carroll would help with westcoast recruits but so far he's failed miscerably with Grimble and Alexis.how the **** was Jalen Grimble a 5 -star recruit??
You aren't going to get many kids to come 3000 miles to play for a mediocre team. We need to get wins to start landing elite kids out West. I am sure we could just take any kid from out West just to met a quota but if they aren't elite kids why take them? Plenty of "under the radar" kids in our own backyard. See kids like Cleveland, Cain and Gaines as examples. 2 stars projects from OOS that no one else wanted who have done next to nothing here. Kids should have never been offered by Miami. Gaines and Cain were kids who Randy heard about from a friend LOL Rather take projects from our backyard that we have seen in person on multiple occasions than a kid who had decent film and hype from his uncle's sister's brother, on his mom side that once bumped into Randy Shannon at the mall.
