M. Bain .... Says UM doesn't

BULL GARBAGE! The kids a flat out stud. Don't be naive, he is everything this coaching staff loves. We have plenty of room for this type of DT. :/

Staff loves his athleticism no doubt about that. But when a guy isn't even starting at DT on his own HS team, that is definitely a huge red flag. This team cannot afford any major projects, which he definitely is.
They were down a man. Beat a great tough team. it's called a BEAST! I will say it again... I GUESS LSU, USC and OKLA just don't know talent! REALLY? :facepalm

There is no way USC takes him, absolutely 0% chance they take him. I highly doubt LSU takes him either.

I think you're missing the point I'm trying to make, which is that we are not in the position to take major projects. This team needs JuCo guys badly as well as guys like Bryant and Bostwick who are much further along in their development than Bain. All the DL in this class will need to be playing NEXT YEAR.

Bain hasn't been playing Defense all year, I don't buy that "man down" excuse, sorry. If he was an absolute game-changer at DL, I guarantee you he would be playing for them.

agree with you fully. if you cant even ball out on the HS level and at least be starting on your team.. how are you gonna show up to Miami the next year and us hope he can be our savior at DT
Peter you way off here. Corey King...... really? so your saying they have been ALL OVER THIS KID and suddenly he's not Miami material? LOL

I have no problem with this.
Really? So he goes to crappy, loser programs like LSU, OKLA or USC? Yeah, your right... they don't know talent like you do. :facepalm

the guy doesn't even start for his own team. He plays OL. The game I saw him play...he was not very impressive. Its also obvious that our staff knows we have to go after someone better.

They were in need of a bigger man on the OL. They were down a man. He stepped up and road graded them. He is being recruited hard by, okla, usc and lsu. AND MIAMI AND UF AND FSU! Come on man? you know better?

UF has never been on him. FSU essentially dropped him from their class. USC will not take him I absolutely guarantee that 100%. Don't know about Okla or LSU, but I would be stunned if LSU took him.

Like I said, I don't know what happened with Miami, but when a kid goes from having a school #1 to flat out eliminating him, that tells me something went on behind-the-scenes.
I hope you right...

Corey King is one of the guys on the verge of getting cut.

I never said he's not Miami material, again, you are missing the point. In the current situation of this program, we need guys who will be ready to play from day 1. Bain is a couple years away from making an impact and that is something this program can't afford especially with scholarship reductions coming

I've wanted Bain in this class but face facts. We need impact guys like yesterday and Bain isn't one of those guys.

I don't really stress highly rated DTs from Florida. They have been busting for years. Not saying Bain will fall into that category, but I like to play the percentages. Lately, the chances of a highly touted Florida DT doing well in college have been slim. For this reason, this doesn't faze me.

People saying they want impact guys, that means JUCOs right? Cause as we've seen with Moore, Ivery and Briscoe, it is really hard for freshman DTs to make an impact.

Yes but most believe Bryant is in another league compared to those guys.

Understandable. He's a good athlete and has a lot of potential. Just can't be waiting 3 years for a defensive tackle to start contributing. Need a JUCO and a Prep guy if we are looking at just Bryant and Bostwick as the freshmenz. Need a nose tackle...JUCO is perfect for those. Prep guy would be nice to get as well.

I still stand by a much needed four defensive tackles.

Luther Robinson
Curtis Porter
Olsen Pierre
Earl Moore
Dequan Ivery
Jacoby Briscoe (he and Bain are similar)
JUCO
Prep
Bryant
Bostwick

Jalen Grimble and Corey King can transfer.

I might even take it a step further and go for 2 JUCO, 1 prep, and 2 HS kids. We're beyond desperate there.

how the **** was Jalen Grimble a 5 -star recruit??
Was hyped going into his SR season and was the top DL in nevada.Committed to USC early but once they saw him outgrow DE and not be as dominat at DT they recruited 2 other DTs and told him they wanted him to be an OL for them. That's when he decided to come to miami since he knew coach Carroll who had recruited him at SC.Offtopic but many thought Carroll would help with westcoast recruits but so far he's failed miscerably with Grimble and Alexis.

Grimble was a risk....everyone who saw his film thought he was NOT a 5* player. But, I'd rather take a risk on a 5* than on a 2*. I wouldn't be shocked if he transferred after this season anyway...he is going to be so far down on the depth chart on a roster of JAGS he might as well go play for Northern Colorado.

Alexis wasn't really a recruit...he was a space holder and practice body.

I'd rather Miami sit tight and focus on Florida and Georgia and venture up to NJ/PA a little bit. If you're going out to Cali, get the JUCOs out there.
