Lu and DMoney: Thoughts on the Offense?

Awesome write up, but you basically proved my point. Scrollng thru quickly I see You have him missing some blocks and plays breaking down due to said blocks being missed. I noticed guys making plays and noticed Feliciano was the guy who missed that block, it happened with McDermott and even Linder once or twice. Our interior struggled. Its ok.

Our oline seems to have a problem locking on guys. Its not just one player either. A ton ended up on the ground play after play as their man was in the backfield making plays. Feliciano looked like crap but so did our Center a number of times. I dont know if its been mentioned but Seantrel seemed to be on of the few who played well (in comparison to others). Also found it interesting that when the chips are down, Seantrel starts and doesnt rotate much at all

Still holds true, Like I said your biased has clouded your judgement. Feliciano is a good player, he went against a guy who played a **** of a game, we still won. Feliciano will be better from this, atleast I hope

Miami OL held Florida's 4-man (or less) pass rush to affecting QB on just 15.8% of dropbacks. Would have been best of any team last year.

Morris has never showed the type of poise in the pocket I would like to see. He gets too jumpy even when it's not necessary. Don't think that'll change at this point

Agree with you on his jumpiness, I would almost like to see him scramble more, seems like he has the speed to move the chains a little more with his feet.

I just think we hyped Morris and began to believe our own hype. The guy is inconsistent, and simply disappears for a large portion of the game. He did it with Fisch and now he's doing it with Coley. I don't remember Harris having that problem with Fisch's playbook in Jacory's last year. I don't know what happens with Morris after the first quarter, but its a momentum killer. I'm not gonna put all the blame on him, but I think its time to realize we don't have the QB we thought we had in Morris. If we lower our expectations for him then maybe we won't be so baffled as to what is going on with the offense.

This has been my view. People have gotten very enamored with his arm strength. That's a great attribute, but decision-making and accuracy are far more important. I was hoping to see some improvement this year, but it has not materialized yet. Though he did have one really good swing pass to Herb Waters against FAU, which gave me some hope.

Not to the degree of Jacory (whose lobs were pure feast or famine), but I find myself worrying when he throws anything other than the deep balls.

Ok, but he never lost to Easley, so I don't know where you're even getting this from. Watch the tape, I broke it down for you.

To say he "looked like crap" is a reach. Bunche "looked like crap". Flowers, at times, looked like crap. But to say a guy looked like crap because he messed up on 3 plays out of 50 is a reach.

Watch the film. It's not about a bias, it's about the fact that I watch every play of his, which I doubt you do.

Just goes to show that when you see the break downs in front of you in LIVING COLOR, you tend to get happy feet.

Agree to disagree, but you can feel free to show me otherwise.

I think you're off base when you said "you guys" (effectively lumping me in) as if I had made any comments that Feliciano played like "crap." The guy missed plays he's typically made and didn't have the game I expected of him. As I've said in maybe 200 threads, that's mostly on coaching because they're being asked to do things they might not necessarily be great at because that's the style their coordinator leans toward (and their RB excels in). It's also partly on him in the plays (the few I saw and mentioned) he did miss this weekend. I know he's your dude, but actually that would make your expectations even higher than mine.

I think this is a major problem for the cane fans, that have pumped him up thinking he was a 1st day pick next draft.

So in turn, they tend to turn a blind eye to a fact that has been there since all of last season.

Morris is Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde, and that is not going to change, regardless of what great tools he possesses, or who calls the plays.

Canes fans aren't to blame for the hype. Al Golden, the Manning passing academy, Todd McShay, the offseason hype was tremendous. You have to forgive Miami fans for getting excited after being told how accurate he looked.
