LSU pulled Tim Williams' offer

I know that "grades" are a popular excuse for coaches who give up on a recruit and want to save face. Shannon's staff used to do that a lot and so does UF. That could be happening here, because like you guys I'm wondering why these grade rumors popped up out of nowhere.

Even if this kid has to prep, is that such a bad thing? A year at prep school would allow him a full year to develop physically. He's not going to toss around D1 lineman like he does in his highlight vid..

How can you watch his highlight video and not want this kid? Explosive first step, running down backs from the backside. C;mon man. While he could use a RS to bulk up a bit, with our pass rushing issues, he could easily play a McCord role immediately next year if none of the young guys step up. I don't give **** if Les wants him or not.

Agree completely. He would likely redshirt next year anyway imo.

Strange. I know they most likely aren't as accurate as the talent evaluators at LSU but Williams is ranked just as well or better than all LSU commits on all four recruiting services; and the kid basically lives on campus. It's hard for me to believe that they pulled his offer because he showed he just wasn't interested, doesn't make much sense to me.

Either this kid is one of the most overrated recruits I can remember or there's fire behind all the smoke. Maybe they know he's going prep or JUCO and will bother offering him when he's ready to come in and leave the slots open for kids they know that can come in this year? I'm scratching my head.

Im all in on this kid from what I see but there has to be a reason for Lsu giving up...we gotta find out

I could be reaching here, but maybe this has something to do with us looking at the new JuCo DE recruit Hardison?

I think its pretty simple. LSU has 3 DE's already committed. I dont think its a coincidence that one of them just committed about a week ago and then there is this news on Williams. LSU wants Beckwith (another highly rated kid from La.) and its a simple case of Williams not jumping on the ship when he had the chance if that's where he wanted to go.

They have three or four defensive ends already committed.

2 pages and everyone still speculating grades when the answer is the 6th post in.

/lock thread

The question is "why did they take 3 other DEs?" Something doesn't add up. It's like, when say, an Ohio State comes down here and thinks they stole a Jamaal Berry and not bother asking why none of the Big 3 wanted him.
