LSU pulled Tim Williams' offer

Grades? Surely not talent.......

He's visiting FSU soon and grades are a strong possibility. Perhaps LSU is unsure about his grade situation and doesn't think he's good enough to warrant the risk. That puts FSU in a great situation cause he's more likely to clear their admissions than ours.

Just because some recruiting website ranks a guy high doesn't mean the guys who get paid millions of dollars from actual college football programs feel the same way.

I guess if they pulled his offer because of his interest in us and they decided to move on, that's ok, but I think it's legitimate to wonder.

Think it's more about numbers. Why does everyone assume grades all the time. If it was grades the staff wouldn't be wasting their time with him. This is good news for us IMO

Last I looked he had offers from all the big name programs, including Bama, LSU knows something everyone else doesn't.

so his grades aren't good enough for LSU but it's good enough for Miami? how

If he ain't gettin into LSU, he's for sure not getting into FSU. I think we'd have backed off if his grades were that bad.

Who said his grades are "that bad". Think about it this way: LSU is recruiting a bunch of DEs and they want Williams but he likes other schools as well and wants to extend his recruitment to NSD. Throw in a possible grade risk and that's too much uncertainty for LSU to continue recruiting him when they want to wrap up their class sooner than later. Miami and FSU don't have a better chance of getting him cleared but they do have staffs that are willing to take the chance and continue recruiting him.

That's just 1 hypothesis based on the rumors of grade issues that are out there on Williams.

Also keep in mind that we're recruiting other grade risks like Bostwick and possibly Bain and Coley.

His parents are educators, so grades are , nor could that ever be an issue. LSU probably told him to chose, an obviously they didn't like his answer if it is true they pulled his offer.

So that should make his commitment to UM that much easier, as for his interest in LSU I tjink he is just enjoying the attention. If not LSU, then UM is the best choice academically, an from playing time.

Go Canes

As a teacher I know that sometimes this simply isn't true. Some of the worst students I have ever had came from parents that were teachers and or principals. It may be true with Williams, I have no knowledge of the situation, but you can't make a broad statement like that.

the reason is because they just got another DE commit and they are in good position for Beckwith. No room for T.Williams and it will hopefully be our gain
