LSU lose 3 more to draft

You can continue to believe that he dropped LSU. I think it's the exact opposite. LSU put him on the back burner completely.

so why did they allow him at all the home games to start the season off? and why would he still consider them? don't read what national recruiting analyst say look at facts throughout the recruiting process

Why would they let him go to home games? Are you serious? What did it hurt them to allow him to walk across the street and attend games? UM has let a lot of local kids come to our games and then stopped recruiting them. Letting a local kid attend games isn't a big deal.

He's a great player, and they were interested in him. They're probably still somewhat interested in him if they have him scheduled for an official visit. They let their class shape up and kept him on the back burner in case some things didn't come through for them with guys higher on their board. We did the same thing with Cunningham and many others. It happens EVERYWHERE and all the time.

You know what else happens EVERYWHERE and all the time? A local kid that feels the need to get out of town for any number of reasons. The only facts that we have to look at is that LSU offered him, in fact very early and were on him, and his favorite school growing up is Miami. Those are the facts. No where has it been said that LSU cooled on him, or they're slowplaying him. No one knows for sure, but lets not try and pretend that you do. Its ok to have differing opinions...and I respect everyone's.

I believe that he just isnt as interested in them as many other Louisiana kids are.

Actually, it has been said that LSU cooled on him. That "don't pretend you know" rap goes both ways.

I never pretended to know anything if that's what you were alluding to. So far I've only noticed one person playing fantasyland in this thread.

By who? the same people that said he had "issues"?

If you say so.

LoL kid

Its funny how people on this board and on the LSU rivals board or w/e board said that LSU stop recruiting Tim Williams because of characters issues or bad grades. Even though both have been proven false by people that go to Tim's school or have kids on his team also the fact that he was voted team captain. Remember this isn't some regular school or football team they have a bunch of LSU football staff members sons(Miles, Raymond, etc) playing with Tim.

His grades, Jimmy D Smith ‏@JamesSmithNola
Tim Williams reports a 3.0 GPA and a 20 on his ACT. The rumors of grade issues seem to be erroneous.

Also funny that people swore that he was back-up plan to Kendell Beckwith if he did not commit they would accept Tim for the final DE spot. Now LSU is now after Robert Nkemdiche, they just came into the picture recently. It was a Clemson vs Ole Miss battle for awhile before the last month or so.

I never said anything about his character.

There's a possibility LSU stopped recruiting him hard because they had others higher on their board. Is that a possibility that you recognize, or are you going to dig your heels in and insist you know the absolute truth about his recruitment when you don't? There's also a chance that LSU got turned off to him for some other reason that we are unaware of.

You know what else is a real possibility? That Tim is claiming he has an official visit set up with LSU when he actually doesn't. Recruits do that all the time.

Another possibility is that he dropped LSU and told them he's not interested. I just don't happen to think that's true based on all I've read. Therefore, I am of the OPINION that he will go to LSU if LSU has him in for an official visit and puts the full court press on him.

if he lives and goes to school basically next door to the campus and stadium what can they show him on an official visit that he has never seen or heard before?Especially when he has been to countless amount of games and had a large amount of contact with the coaches? Like Matthew Thomas and Denver Kirkland they don't need an official to make them any more interested in us they know everything already but they love UM so they want to take it and LSU has 6 dlineman recruits so they don't need him especially when we have been #1 from day 1 on his list

Totally agree with this. All of these are very real possibilities. What makes the boards so great is that we can all speculate on what we believe happened. Personally, I think Tim is too great of a talent that plays football right next door to them for LSU to be passing or slowplaying him. Definitely could be wrong though.

What they can show him, which I don't think they have for the past several months, is that they really want and need him. If they do that, then I think they can get him. If they continue to ignore him and slow-play him, then I think he will wind up elsewhere. It's really that simple for me.

I think LSU quit recruiting him hard for WHATEVER REASON. As a result, he might wind up somewhere other than LSU. If LSU decides to put the full-court press on him, I've been of the opinion from the very beginning that they can get him. Of course, the longer they d1ck around, the less chance they have.

I've always been of the opinion that LSU can have Williams any time they want him. And they might want him now that their two DEs are leaving early. Might not be great news for UM.

This is true. I never discount LSU in recruiting - especially top rated in state kids.

That said, LSU has been virtually non-existent with TW in terms of recruiting. It might be a case of TLTL here. Normally, if LSU was remotely in the picture with some interest, I'd say "no way we get him". But, they haven't.

we'll see.

We will see what happens. I saw him at the UA game and he was pretty excited to toss the "U" up. I think that he really wants to be here regardless of what LSU does, but his family and outside pressure is pulling him towards the hometown school. Much like what we see down here from time to time. If we get momma down here for an official I think its a done deal.
