Why would he do that? Learning for a year and then taking over from there. You are allowed to have more than one starting caliber QB on your roster at a time. Ask Alabama about that.

Saying you’re going to build around a quarterback should reassure Jake, hopefully not make him want to leave.

You do know that TVD can possibly leave after next season for the NFL.

I realize TVD may have a year left.

Many people thought Jake looked as good or better in the spring. I don't claim to know Jake's mindset and I would love to have him be the understudy and roll right in when Tyler leaves but this generation is not known for their patience when it comes to the portal.

Im not saying they shouldn't build an offense around Tyler, he has been great, I'm just not sure that was the best messaging.

I realize this wont be a popular thread but Oh well.

For the record I could not be happier with the Mario hire.

Stop peeing in your panties. Watch and learn what Mario does to keep everyone home and add to that. Garcia is one injury away from starting. He will also get loads of playing time as we will be blowing out teams like old canes teams.

1. Sign Brady (or Dorsey) as OC.
2. Improve OL play w/ Mirabel & Cristobal in the fold.
3. Watch TVD truly ascend his level of play to national award status in 2022.
4. Watch TVD get drafted day one in early 2023.
5. Jake Garcia starts and kills it in 2023 (with an even stronger team around him).

I don't see any reason for the young man to transfer.
