@GoldenAl said coaches have "been working around the clock'' trying to get DT Curtis Porter in better physical condition

@GoldenAl on DL Curtis Porter: "Hopefully he can help us in the [Virginia Tech] game.''

Hopefully he makes it past the first quarter :newman:

He played well enough at the end of last year for people to be happy about him finally being healthy. He can hold the point of attack and is stout against the run.

Played a lot down the stretch last year and was by all accounts the best interior lineman. Whenever he's been on the field, he gets push. The trouble, however, is getting him on the field.

so WHEN he was on the field, he was better than Ojomo and Vernon?

Ojomo and Vernon are DE's (I know Ojomo tried to play DT), Porter is a true DT

thanks for clearing that up. as you can tell, my football IQ is non existent. my first game ever was the 09 thursday night vs Georgia Tech (the first home game of my freshman year)

I seem to remember him causing a little bit of havoc during the BC game last year

He did, so him returning is a bad thing.

The point is we need help at DT, so getting him healthy and in condition to play would be excellent. The fight over this from this board is amazing.

If he can come in and just not get pushed around it would be an improvement.

Can't believe people still think it's funny to make little jokes about him.

Wow there are some major douche's on this board. I hope the kid is healthy, conditioned, and ready to contribute. If not, we'll take him when we can get him.

Wow, how smart and reasonable of you. What is next, you want Duke to get healthy?
