The father of Florida State incoming freshman linebacker Matthew Thomas said Monday night that his son wants to attend USC.

He made a decision for himself. It's USC," Matthew Thomas' father said.

But re: Matthew Thomas, a separate source said the No. 6 overall recruit has not clearly told FSU he will not play there

That source said of Matthew Thomas that family conflict and outside influences are affecting the situation

Matthew Thomas' Dad: "No disrespect to Florida State but Matthew is willing to take the punishment if there is one."

Hope MT goes to the other coast. Say what you will, but he is a potential impact player on our biggest rival. His departure would be devastating to FSU.

Why Is It Devastating? They Were Beating Us Before He Got There Lol And We Still Have No Ideal What Kinda Player He's Gonna Be Yet. Just My OPinion

It would suck for them, but it wouldn't be devastating. One player that hasn't taken a live snap hardly ever is.

sorry Dmoney it is a loss but not devastating to FSU look at the LB class they already have committed for 2014

When the best defensive player in the country signs with you and then enrolls somewhere else, it's devastating. This guy is a Patrick Peterson-type talent and will haunt FSU the same way Peterson has haunted us.

I see where you coming from you and I just disagree on how good Thomas is going to be. I dont even think he was the best defensive player in the state last year. Plus you dont want a kid that doesnt want to be there

If Matthew Thomas signed with Miami and pulled this shi_t we all would be devastated on this board... = FSU fans are devastated.

I don't want that **** anywhere near Duke and own guys, I will pay for his tickets to LA

"listened to my mother, who raised me, but now this (Florida State) isn't in my heart."

I rather Matthew Thomas sign with FSU and slap them across the face like this vs just committing to USC on signing day

also, I don't think Keith Bryant is qualified yet.

When I think of Matthew Thomas I think of Jermaine Grace's comment:

Jermaine Grace on Matthew Thomas' decision: "Hey I'm sure he did whats best for his future and I cant blame him. I wouldn't wanna compete against me either"

True Cane.

That quote is as reliable as your sources.

Lulz at people trying to downplay how big a deal this is for FSU, especially if Bryant doesn't qualify.

Recruiting Rankings aren't that big of a deal but, without those two players FSU's recruiting class ends up being ranked lower than ours. All while we are in the middle of this ****storm.

I thought someone admitted to making up that quote?
