THIS. People here look at all the good teams, see that they're loaded and constantly creating competition, and then don't understand why we are trying to have...gasp...more than one good player at each position.

I don’t have a problem with us trying to get C position filled. I can see little Alex running around throwing offers at portal C like Oprah gives away free cars. Why does he need that many darts? Be calculating and strategic. But at least he has a green light with/from Mario.

Somewhat unrelated question - in the past I’ve heard Francis projects to G in the pros? Is that still the case? If so, why can’t be open to the best OL and if’s a OT, we slide FM inside to G? And this has nothing to do with our C recruiting. That’s a separate position in itself. I just know we are looking for a G as well.

I think Tripp was supposed to be our C and he kept getting hurt and is now in the portal.

Nino is supposed to be a C but he was always a RS guy and he will be a RS freshman, makes sense to bring someone in.

Rodriguez likely has a beat on it and is the old man of the group, he was opening day starter at G but he also has been often injured through his career. So again having RRod backed up by Nino is not ideal.

Plazz, McCoy, Minaya, Tinilau, Cooper, Bell, Kinsler and Okunla all are G or T.

It looks like Mario and Mirabal like to have a 5th year at center, the last two years it was Matt Lee and Zach Carpenter, they have the young guys but want them aged.

Left guard isn’t exactly entrenched either. They were shuffling rivers McCoy all season after Rivera got back. Which I wasnt a fan of. I think this staff just sees upgrades and will shoot their shot. And they have cache at the position.
 
These centers claiming offers is BS. If you recall last year, there were so many guys from schools coming out early on in the portal claiming miami offers and not one actually came here. People were flipping out.
