Look to the Transfer Portal: Discussion thread

Hope we can move fast (I know, I know) and make a big, early splash. Ideally with a QB or some big game-changer type.

Feels like it worked out opposite last time around, timing wise. Obviously Cam was a great pull, but we would’ve been a much more attractive destination for others with him in the fold.

These centers are getting called before the edit is even released, jack. It’s amazing. That’s 3 C’s offered, lol.

- Liberty kid

But it’s all good, I’m sure the DB offers are about to roll in. No worries….
We’re not even talking about what that means for the current centers/interior OL on the roster…

Heading into year 4 & we're on our 3rd Center transfer in a row...

Weird for guys whose bread & butter is OL development.

I’d be worried if we was getting bad quality centers but they have done a good job identifying them out of the portal. I’m guessing they want to have a bridge between SJ and he take over next year(only an assumption on my end).

Mario any time a new lineman enters the portal

It's just a little weird that they don't have one in-house already developed by now.

This is their 4th recruiting class & they don't & haven't had a single HS recruited C play starter snaps at all for us.

QB, WR & other positions I understand, because that's not what they do, that's not their specialty. But OL, is literally what they care about more than anything. It's their primary focus & everything they do revolves around it.

You'd think they would've found one & built him up by now, but I guess not.

It's just a little odd is all I'm saying.

It is odd. I was shocked when the announcers said during the Oregon game that the entire Oregon secondary was made up of transfers.
The way they recruit and Lanning being a defensive coach I was really surprised by that.

Valid point, I can imagine they are still kicking themselves losing that kid to Auburn a couple yrs ago.

It’s funny the best unit we have which is our OL is the earliest to offer as well. Almost like Mirabal and his other coaches are competent at what they do. Wish we had that across the board on this staff.
