Look to the Transfer Portal: Discussion thread

Guys leaving in the middle of a playoff run continues to give me huge red flag vibes.

Anybody can think of a player who has done this and been successful at their next stop?
I get it - but I’m guessing most of the time, its guys that weren’t getting playing time and they want to secure a spot for next year. If they wait out their playoff run before declaring, there might not be a spot waiting for them elsewhere.

That said, I think its up to the schools to put that in their NIL deals to ensure a player stays throughout the playoff run - starting now, I’m guessing the teams with the best chance of winning it each year is the team that has the most depth that they can tap into.

I get that it isn’t the best look. But look how many people are hitting the portal the second it opens. Teams are going to fill spots. You have to get in or left behind. If a player that is in the rotation jumps in, that’s one I’d have a hard time getting behind, but a young guy who isn’t getting playing time I won’t hold it against them personally.

And the problem with NIL is you can’t structure it that way legally, I don’t believe. That’s where it dips into the “pay for play”, which it already is but apparently we have to keep up the facade.

I’d take Singleton over Concepcion, and it’s not even close honestly.

I said that like I have a choice and we’ll be involved for either of them, tuh.
They got to throw their name in for Singleton, tho I am sure uga or someone already got dibs on him..

This was brought up and Dmoney posted comparisons between him and CJ Bailey, suggesting Bailey is just as good if not better. Reading between the tea leaves that would suggest Miami isn't that high on him.
