I mean, let's assume this report is true...if so, isn't it actually pretty smart to make your opening ask high? You know some desperate dip**** program with money (Miami, Auburn, Nebraska, Colorado, South Carolina) is going to overpay, even if it isn't the exact number you open at.

They upped it from 56 to 70 OVs allowed in a year. Effective April 1 - So I assume some of the post spring guys we pursued counted against that too. Fresh 56 (or 70 if they keep the trial limit) should start April 1, 2024 - so if we're going to be active in the portal it won't be anyone currently in there. It will be post spring window.

Should be less than a big deal due to NIL - it can be covered after the fact - but tough to convince someone like Kaidon Salter to come in who had no NIL deal and is probably strapped for cash at the moment.

Or we can be dirty about it... hasn't stopped schools like Georgia and Ohio State for several years for giving unofficial visitors the OV treatment. Slippery slope and haven't seen us really try to bend the rules to date under Mario. We don't even tamper like those other programs are doing.

I was gonna say. I personally know more than a few current college players and vets no longer playing who got the "OV treatment" on an unofficial. Lol. I thought it was common practice. However, knowing that the ncaa once held that "dark cloud" over us for a while, I can understand the hesitation.

I see what everyone is saying about visits and spots but there is no **** way Mario is going into next season with the CBs and safeties on our roster as the only scholarship players. Lance would be out here so fast if that was actually the plan. There have got to be portal guys coming even if it’s after spring.

I can’t explain the lack of interest in guys like Earl Little unless they are just in love with the young guys on campus.
