Look to the Transfer Portal: Discussion thread

And not to keep harping on this, or you specifically, but others on this board used to claim incompetency when manuela would keep open 15 OV's that would never get used. 🤣 I choose this incompetence, but yes, dear Lord we need more help than 2-3 OVs haha
My guess is we are not the only school with limited remaining OVs. That number is not very high when you conisder the HS and portal recruiting especially HS recruiting where you are likely recruiting 50 to 60 kids heavily to get the 25 or so you end up signing.

Family member of a kid in the portal said the staff told him they had no more visits left to use but he could come on his own dime

Finishing off the portal class I'd expect nothing else or very few additions.

Brutal mismanagement of the 2024 class to bring in all of those JAGs and not cut ties and waste visits we needed.

Guess we'll go into the season with 4 corners and 4 safeties. What could possibly go wrong? Also probably why they're all in on Ward.

Another one that makes a lot sense is UF.
If he wants NFL it doesn't make much sense. They'll run him into the dirt behind a putrid OL. If he wants NIL and a ton of carries and to get blown out on a weekly basis... great option. **** they may be blown out so frequently that they don't even run the ball often.

Miami makes sense from an NIL perspective and an NFL perspective if he's looking to be in a loaded backfield where he's not getting overworked. Running behind a good OL too in a lesser conference so he'll look better.

I think it's a ploy for more money from Ole Miss. He'd be crazy to get out of that scheme to go to any of the options mentioned. Kiffin puts his backs in position to put up the numbers he's doing.

I lean a return to Ole Miss, Auburn, LSU, Texas for him. Not sure why Clemson is even mentioned.. have they ever taken anyone out of the portal?

The Office Thank You GIF

Honestly I think saying Mario mismanaged the visits is honestly a VERY dumb take. Early Sugnjng Day has already Happened. We already signed our class. It has zero impact on HS recruiting. We have literally like zero High School prospects we are recruiting still. Plus, For the most part our roster is basically complete.

Second of all an OV isn’t stopping any top portal guy from taking a visit there even if we were out. Like yall honestly saying THAT is why we are gunna miss out on guys? lol like we aren’t gunna pay to have guys visit “on their own dime”?… Even bigger lol at the idea a dude potentially getting a major NIL deal here worth tens of thousands wouldn’t then pay max like $500 to fly down to Miami to take their visit. Yeah I’m sure us not having more OVs is the difference between us signing a top portal CB and not… lmfao

A lot of sense? Imagine leaving Ole Miss to go to Florida LOL, you must have CTE to do that right now.

I'm speaking from a teams needs and NIL perspective. I think he chasing money. I don't think winning is the main objective. Ole Miss is set up to be in the 12 team playoffs next year with the way they're recruiting the portal. I ultimately think he stays at Ole Miss but with more NIL $.

UGA is out. They just got Etienne and have a 2 5stars in the rotation.

I think it's Auburn, Bama, Michigan, FSU or USC. They're the only one that make sense to me. Maybe OU but doubt it.

I look at this list and say he's trying to get bigger NIL from Ole Miss. Us and Clemson being on that list is the giveaway.

He may return but there were some locker room issues (allegedly) with him and Lane isn't concerned.

LSU and auburn make a ton of sense especially LSU their run game has struggled and need proven talent at the skill positions
