Lofton catch. Hip pointer?

Use him more. Fullback/TE. ****.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but with our current situation with our defense, I’d occasionally roll out our offense under center. Specific situations, but if we want to control clock to minimize possessions or simply stabilize a game, I’d roll with Lofton at FB or in creative offset formations. Heck, you can even do this out of the pistol. Perhaps it’s too much to ask to swing from wide open to power run, but something needs to be done to control certain games our defense simply cannot manage.

In agreement and I think we can run on the teams remaining on our schedule.

given the success of the run game, i thought we would do this last night, before falling down 25.

we saw more of this than i expected last night before things got out of hand score-wise

Due to Lofton’s unique build and athleticism, is playing fb in college conducive to a long term football career? Like I don’t even though I know he’s gonna be a really valuable swiss army knife, I don’t see him getting drafted that high without a go to position in the NFL.

Anyone from the Mcvay or shanahan coaching trees will put high value on him.

I've thought the same. One player that IMO would benefit from this is Martinez. He seems like a fish out of water in the offense we run.

Obviously this wouldn't be all the time or even half of the time.

He was on the sideline laying down after the catch. Looked to me the wind got knocked out of him.

See how the 49ers and others from that scheme use their FB/HB and that is what he can be. Kid has caught most passes his way and seems to be a great athlete

This kid is so elite. We just aren’t using him enough. He’s a bowling ball that can catch and block. We need to motion him out let him route linebackers up

I believe you that you think we can. That said, if our D craps the bed like we've been seeing I think that makes Cam get antsy and want to do too much to counter it (like we've seen as well). Seemed like our gameplan was to run and control the clock as we saw so many snaps down to 2 secs or even less. Don't think this meshes well w/ Cam's strengths.

Playing ball-control in a spread with situational tempo and Cam's explosive passing ability is the magic formula, to me.

That's what I always envisioned from this collection of talent.

Yeap. We become the Fins of the mid to late 1980s who had a gunslinger QB trying to make up for a mediocre defense.
