lol seeing enos with a wet playcall sheet let me know everything i needed to know... mans gotta go i was all on the enos train thinking he could mustard up just an avg offense somewhat better than MR but boy was i wrong... i'll be so happy once he officially leaves if he does

Dude you gotta have the biggest hard on for garvin I’ve ever seen, it’s every day you mention him , we can be talking the weather being bad and you’d bust out with “ you know garvin underachieved this year and took plays off”. But then make constant excuses for Williams and Thomas , two of the biggest cancers on the team. Your garvin obsession is almost as bad as krazy cane and Williams.

I know this much , every Saturday of his career garvin was out there battling , unlike Thomas and Williams who wanted to quit , quit or went AWOL . You got this **** *** backwards bruh.

I was a Williams guy, made excuses for him but at some point take for can’t save bad work ethic , a bad attitude and selfish.

If it wasn’t for the Seniors Williams would’ve been gone ,on top of all his other drama.

How can you be a program about winning with all this **** **** going on by supposed leadership positions ?

Ten years from now Thomas will do something silly and you’ll say “ poor kid, you know he’s from east St. Louis right“? Lol.
I’m just saying people ain’t being consistent with that criticism so and just attack certain viable targets(Thomas/Williams etc) because they thought about leaving but never want to say anything to players who really don’t give a sh*t but since they didn’t think about leaving they arent allowed to be criticized for their play or lack thereof. People always keep pointing back to Williams “quitting” but just completely disregard the nature of that position of wanting to play, qbs don’t want to sit period. Good luck with trying to keep them , see Justin fields at osu. By the way speaking of fields did you know he wanted to transfer back to uga after he was at Ohio state of earlier this year ? That sh*t happens anywhere especially at that position. With all that being said Williams is immature and I’m not saying he’s not, if he wants to be the guy he’s going to have to do some growing up on and off the field for sure.

so another “its everyone but manny” slurper moron.

the players have zero respect for Diaz. they know he has never played and was about to be temples coach. they know he hasnt developed players for the NFL, and they think the chain and knuckles are corny now.

You're a ******* tool who thinks he is profound by using the word "slurper".

Manny won't be fired. The players respect him, but there is NO SECOND STRING to allow any sort of accountability.

Manny can fire his assistants, though. When Manny was DC, his unit had results, he got a promotion (even if some will argue it was too much, too soon). There is nothing controversial or "blame" oriented in firing Coordinators who do not produce. Fire Bill Miller, hire Greg Schiano. Nothing new.

You are a buffoon, talking about "they" so that you can pretend to know what the players are thinking. None of the players lack respect for Manny because he was headed to Temple, and those players love the turnover chain (though they would love it more if they got to wear it more).

Your conclusions, as well as your trolling, are obviously stupid and ill-informed. You joined the board right after UM (I'm not going to use the word "we" with you) lost to the Gaytors. You can delete your account now.

"The Old U 2002". What a joke you are. I'm a UM alum from the 80s and 90s, when we could easily survive a few penalties by subbing in the next man up. You are an obvious Gaytor troll running a long con.

Huge recruiting weekend and closing on the 18th early signing day. We might possibly have a top ten class. The best thing going right now. “Idea” let’s continue to slam a first year head coach and his staff about things like team speed and culture for the 1,000,000 time. What would a kicker have done for the season. I get it.... they missed. They missed on the entire season. Can we please get through the bowl and recruiting before we burn the place down AGAIN.

True...

I know you converted to spread this season but alot of this could be fixed with the right spread guy coming in and getting full reign to implement his system. I dont know if we will get to that point anytime soon tho.. #ProStylebro #NFLU

Also Mallory really knew his strengths and weaknesses and Im impressed he went to a school that would accentuate his skills as he was a legacy kid who could go anywhere.. He was sold to play the Njoku role to Brevins more inline Herndon role in Mark richts offense.. Not sure if Enos offense knew how to use him correctly.. Hopefully he get opportunity to thrive in right system before his time is up.. He was supposed to redshirt but I think Irvin got hurt..

WR as a group are a weak position. People have been saying we have a top group for awhile but that simply is not true, these guys dont make plays like how other top guys do.. Its embarrassing and we still dont seem to be trying to recruit out of this issue it seems. If a guy from buffalo can step on campus and snatch your #1 at miami, your core is extremely weak. We need 4-5 top wr prospects..

I dont know whats going on on OL, complete mess.. Only way out is to throw numbers at the problem, dont seem to be doing enough.. Mess will continue..

As far as run game, we dont even try to run the ball.. We are a slow paced, milk the clock, passing team.. We will have like 6 backs to split less than 20 carries and use number one back 90% of time if the O stays the same.. smh
My only thing about the WR position is that if they were in a different offensive system they would be more explosive & more productive, this Enox offense neutralizes our speed at WR.

Just look at what SMU, Ark St, UCF, OK St, Wake Forest & UNC all did with their WR's with the high level production they put on the field & none of them have higher rated WR's than us. **** even ECU has a TF WR who was a low 3-star WR in HS & had 54rec 908yds this season.

Trust me, put JT4, Wiggins, Pope, Payton, Harley & the bunch in a Modern Spread attack & watch how drastically different they look.

Honestly, I thought our special teams were decent this year aside from the terrible kicker. But that's a big issue.

I would look at Jose Borregales from FIU as a grad transfer.
DMoney......totally agree. Our play was shabby to say the least, but if we had a kicker it would have made some difference.
In retrospect, not having a kicker will turn to our advantage, because it shows the rest of our game is way below par. Winning in the 4 th quarter with a team that does not produce would create a false sense that would be unrealistic in matters of team play and competence. Here we are looking at laziness, and an unwillingness to produce without consequences.

Some of your best, most realistic work, @DMoney. As I wrote to you elsewhere...

The heart of our program's issue is broader and probably deserves an entire article itself: we are currently a superficial program. We hire people who seemingly try to figure out their work on the job with limited humility or self-awareness. The result is currently a fake program.

I spent the offseason excited about the future based on offseason data points (all we could analyze and discuss then) and consistently qualifying almost each post with "if these guys game plan and coach as detailed and specific as how they communicate, market and brand," we're going to do great things. Guess what: the season came around.

@DMoney mentioned how Manny is "attuned to analytics." From everything I can see, it seems shaky. I think Manny wants to appear like he's into analytics. Going for a 2-point conversion down 14 near or into the 4th quarter is about the only real life example that stands out in my brain. The rest? It's about as far away from analytics as you can get. We were 89th in plays per game, 90th in yards per play, 130th in 3rd down conversion. We ran a 7 minute grind out drive when an opponent (FIU) was faking injuries to slow us down. So despite any basic metric saying to speed up our approach, we consistently got in plays late to an offense that could barely get going. There is nothing in evidence that backs up analytics-driven behaviors.

We market ourselves as a "cutting edge" program. Where is the evidence? Besides throwing on beach trash as uniforms and some Kinder-level extrinsic motivation and positive reinforcement with gameday jewelry, what do we do that's cutting edge? Our defense throws out some exotic blitzes, but then they become dull the 45th time we blitz a deep Safety from the boundary. Again, we want appear cutting edge without doing the work.

And, guess what happens when the entire program, because this isn't about only what we saw on the field this year, has a culture of appearance > evidence? Well, you attract people and players with similar behavioral patterns. Or, worse, you model those behaviors for impressionable young players.

Early on this season, after I saw what I needed to see post-UNC, I wrote a post about returning to substance. The whole program will continue to float around until we prioritize action over talk, evidence over appearance and work over flash. Till then, I'll hang back in incredible disappointment that I thought some offseason data points might finally carry over into what counts: what we do on the football field. Once we get back to that, I'm up for whatever dancing, jewelry, and marketing we want to do. Can't sell a fake product forever - even if the target market is desperate on hope. As we have been.

This is nothing we didn’t already know but it’s refreshing to hear it from someone that could get backlash in their profession coming out and saying it.

You lost me Jeff Thomas not being good enough, and him being the number 1 problem... When I can say the whole Offensive Staff should've been done how Tupac did Biggie in "Hit em up" other than that. Good read. Lack of discipline tells me all I need to know about our coaches. "He's not good enough" best reciever we had and not even close...

in other words, fire mandy
For now I think he needs to reevaluate the staff and making some changes to it. Find a modern OC, OL coach & DB coaches. The most important change would be getting a recruiting specialist to help.

Yeah I can’t just definitively say if a player like that is good or not in this system when he’s been this misutilized and completely missing in game plans . You can’t tell me if he was in a bama system or even just a normal offense that he wouldn’t put up bigger numbers. The way Thomas was toasting LSU secondary (or getting behind anyone earlier in the year yet we wasn’t getting him the ball) says he’s talented. It’s not just Thomas in that regard either, players like mallory should be more productive, jordan and all of the receivers too

Do not sleep Machotas skillset. Could be very intriguing if we get a spread guy who likes mobility behind center.

Unlike nystateofmind, I will limit my comments to the beautiful women of the Matocha family.
