We need to go hard after 2 legit Juco inside backers. We are more then fine with our outside backers. Is it too late to snag one for this coming season?

**** IT.....I SAY WE PUT DALLAS CRAWFORD IN THE MIX TO STR8N THIS **** UP!!!

WLB: Grace
MLB: Perryman
SLB: Kirby

McCord: the Jack or stand-up DE: the position S. Green played last year.

You're correct sir...except that I think Grace goes to the weak-side.

I think Grace is a phenomenal player and once he gets on...he's not coming off the field.

- I don't think Miami plays a traditional 3-4, so unlike the Steelers or Ravens, you would not put 2 OLB's that would rush the passer.
- I also think McCord lacks a lot in pass coverage and run defense. You would not want him out there an extended period of time. The kid is a specialist as pass-rusher. I'd leave him there.

unfortunately, I think were gonna be on the waiver wire here. Need one more grown up body at this spot at least. What an awful blow to the depth chart.

It will probably be McCord, Perryman and Kirby
With Armbrister, Grace, Young and Owens as depth

I agree with this group except i can see them redshirting young.
Honestly, everyone got so upset about Figs but that was based on potential. Even
Ambrister has done more on the field. lol

Young isn't going to redshirt. Guys who come in for spring ball, rarely redshirt. If they redshirt anyone (which they might not even have the luxury to do) it will be McCray and/or Mike Smith. Young and Owens, barring injury, are going to be expected to contribute in some capacity this season, especially on special teams.

I mean this is going to hurt. Figs was almost there in terms of being that next in line guy to Perryman as the best LB. I think we will be in OK hands with Armbrister, wish there would have been someone for him to compete against though. It may not show this season, but it hurts because we cant RS guys like Owens and McCray and let them learn the game without pressure and making mistakes. Now, they are going to have to play special teams and step up if we need them.

MLB Perryman; Young
Sam Kirby; Owens
Will Armbrister; Grace

I dont think McCray sees any real time. Maybe special teams? Lookin forward to his development tho. He'll be good. I want to see McCord on the field as much as possible. He makes things happen. Him, Grace and Perryman would be cool. Would also like to see Young rotated in to see what hes got. Got a good feeling about him.

I see so many posters claiming that McCord "makes things happen," is a stud, and the like. but outside of being a 3rd down specialist whoe had a couple admittedly big sacks, he was largely a non-factor. Thus far, it's been a lot more hype than actual production.

I'm not knocking him, but pointing this out, because the expectations for him appear to be divorced from reality. and I really do not think he has the lateral movement to play linebacker (beyond serving as a rush-the-qb specialist).

Not sure if LB is his spot, but he was our most productive down lineman over the past two years and he was not ready. At any other top program he was not have been relied on like he was the past two years. We are hoping that he turns the corner with maturity physically and mentally.

I had Grace at SLB even though he's undersized because they're in coverage against the TE more frequently, or in our case the WR, and he's been reported to be our best LB in coverage.
