Geo: recruits telling him that crazy/negative statements are read by recruits and it affects recruiting

Why Isn't UF's bad season impacting recruiting

Geo: UF has a totally different NIL approach than Miami (read into this what you will)

Patterson

Andrew: He's leaning FSU, going to be FSU on Saturday. Likely similar to Fletcher, he'll flip to Miami at the end.
Geo: FSU, Auburn & Miami top 3 right now. Forced commitment by Chaminade staff, recruitment far from over on Saturday. Agrees w/Andrew

Stone

Geo: Miami & OK are finalists. Not predicting. This one likely decided the day of the commit.
Andrew: Stone more likely than Patterson. Will predict morning of the commit.

Miami/OK recruiting battles

Andrew: Stone and Jackson are close, but package deal seems to be fading
Andrew: Venables had a poor year also, battling Miami for a lot of kids. If one school does worse than the other, kids could be on flip watch

So we’re probably not landing Patterson, our only blue-chip DL commit is certainly li$tening to FSU (who can drop their nuts on Miami by landing Patterson and flipping Jones), another one of our 4-stars is listening to Bama (concern valid, who wouldn’t be with a kid from up there), and if we don’t close on Stone, Lightfoot is going to look around and see Daylen Russell as his interior help.

But hey, at least we feel good about ‘25 and ‘26 kids.

I mean seriously, where does it stop? Also the “fans” comment LOL, another excuse. Absolutely f^ck off with that, that’s what 5-7 and a current class average outside the Top 20 gets you. We’re no worse than UF, FSU, UGA, Bama, Ohio St, etc.

The fan excuse is almost as bad as the 5-7 record bull**** with other teams with just as bad of records out performing us. We better start pivoting to Plan B options at DT. We're already sending out additional offers at S. We were told that had nothing to do with Patterson. Again, just stop feeding us bull**** is all I ask.

I remember some of the tried and true Al Golden defenders on this board who still stood by him through the bitter end of his tenure blaming fan negativity on message boards for his recruiting failures.

To see fan negativity cited as an excuse for our current issues just shows how stuck we are in this repetitive cycle. Never thought I'd see that card played this early but I also never expected this cycle to go the way it has so far.
 
This “he is committing to them Saturday but he will be ours when he signs” bs is some of the biggest pot of bull**** I’ve ever seen lol. It makes absolutely zero sense. No, it’s not like Fletcher … at all. Because when Fletcher committed to OSU, 99.9% of this fanbase said “Ah we didn’t want him anyway”, lol. Its some loser **** to continue to scream this, like wtf is gonna change? You telling me this kid is just taking up front money to commit to them publicly but he has every intention of signing with us and its that well known to where random fans even know the deal? Yeah, I call bs. And listen if it boils down that way I will be the first to come on here and admit I was wrong and will stfu going forward but as of right now? Miss me w that bull****.

A top 100 local game changer at SAFETY is about to go to our rival but it’s all good, he will be ours on NSD, unless we have a bad season of course, lol.

It’s actually hysterical. Have they ever looked at the Auburn forums and what fans write and how many coaches have been driven off there if they don’t have a successful season . Yes, they fill the stands, but I can assure you it was getting ugly in the last two years.

Facts. It's irrelevant whether positive or negative at this point and nothing they're saying is new at all. FSU is throwing bags at Jones (yeah no ****), Riley & Pruitt being chased by Bama, Stone/Jackson package deal is overrated (any recruiting vet knows that stuff is overstated), and Stone will be a photo finish. And Patterson is obviously a loss. No way to spin that positively right now. Is it possible if we have a great season and FSU stumbles we flip him ? Sure, but not likely at all. Gonna only listen to Cribby at this point and he's stated ad nauseum about how NIL has created a new level of unpredictability. Just find a way to not be *** on the field to at least eliminate the biggest ammo being used against us.

I don’t want to criticize the kid himself but the Chaminade making him commit stuff, along with the misdirecting about taking a bag feels for me more like a local kid trying to deflect negative criticism for committing to the enemy

We’ve certainly seen that enough times
