I’ve only shot as straight as what I have been told. There are numerous guys I’ve mentioned that Miami won’t get. Not all sunshine and daisies.

What will be really unfortunate about all the hype is how Jason Taylor has been set up. "Brian Hartline of the defensive Line". That's absurdly lofty and if these kids don't come in the way people think he's going to catch the ire of the fans for no fault of his own...except the not landing them part.

I'm not even sure how many of these High Level Defensive Lineman are realistic today. It went from EVERYONE (insert gif) to who is our most realistic now? Scott I'm guessing. But 1 guy aint going to have everyone going crazy. We've done that before.
 
People are now seeing why I‘ve just stffu this go round. People flat out lie or try to discredit anyone that’s considered an “ insider “ and for a reason. Hence why they say “ insiders“. They purposely use that big brush. I’ll drop a bone here and there but it’s really not worth the hassle. I will say I don’t expect this class to be some elite ,top 3-5 class like some think. That’s likely not happening. Just my two cents.

Well like i said, its clear that top 3-5 is almost out the question. For couple reasons, positions we have been good in like OL are really down this cycle. And we have taken multiple lower ranked players who have high upside and traits. So my judging this class is strictly based on how we recruit the DL. I dont care if man wanna say we need to stack too 5 classes on each other, we do but its not the same as the past because of the portal, so addressing needs is more important imo. Its not a cop out, its simply nuance which man here dont want to take into account. Also there is no point putting your neck on the line. I seen the snide comments, some down right trollish. And its funny these people dont get banned, but i got thread banned for defending the staff before. So its best to just ignore it. Most of these people cant even be ar$$ed to go to the games anyway and like to act like they are more hurt than anyone when we struggling. Rant over.

Do you think the staff having more trouble this year reading recruits and figuring out whether it’s a possibility? Do you think that if the team performs on field (10 wins), we have a chance to get an elite class or even top 10?

I’m with you, I don’t understand why there has been a notion thrown out there about Miami jumping into the top-5 range from some people. A lot would have to go right and I’ve been consistent about it, that the on-field performance is going to be a bigger factor this year compared to last year.

I think Miami will land some big time guys, but I’m not expecting a jump compared to last season, where they are recruiting on a Georgia level.

Only so long a vision can be sold, have to show results.

I actually think they bought some stocks low that’ll run later after the season starts. Like Wheatley , Day , Shavers , Pruitt and Thomas. I’d even throw Judd in there. I could see huge seasons from some of these guys and could change their rankings. I really like how they’re evaluating guys now, especially eve SFLA kids. The last 10–15 years we’ve been late on these guys or never offered.

I still think the season dictates a lot. Kids want to see for themselves.

Win on the ******* field for once and then see where the pieces fall.

Fact: this program has sucked on the field since 2005. Only 4 seasons of 9-4 or better since then.

Win on the field, for ***** sake, if the expectation is to kill recruiting the way most here expect. Last year’s recruiting ranking was a miracle based on how the team played.

No shot they recruit well the next 2 classes or more if they don’t win this year.

We're going portalling for safeties next season regardless. DB is still a WIP along with QB. Fortunately most other spots are now deep enough that we can primarily replenish with HSers.
