Also of note is that Morris didn't do a great job of getting guys the ball in a position to get YAC. Many passes were low and forced the receiver down to get them.
It's not about the way it looks. It's what it means going forward. If you want to talk football, jump into the discussion. Do you think this type of offense is sustainable? Do you see its limitations?
If you don't have anything substantive to add, feel free to sit on your hands. This isn't a ****-stirring board.
Lu, there's no reason to think this is the offense going forward, though. He's called 13 games as the o coordinator, and none have looked like this, including Morris' lone start at Maryland.
He also had a team that wasn't in the condition to play this way. The offense last year wasn't very good anyway. So Fisch shouldn't be hanging his hat on what happened last year. At Minnesota he installed this type of offense. It didn't go very well, but it was noted that it was somewhat complex which may speak as to why it wasn't used in his first year at Miami.
The team may not have been conditioned to play the no huddle, but this type of offense is something we did not do at all last year with a much more experienced offense including seniors and nfl draft picks up and down the skill spots. Why install the more complicated system now with a group of backs and receivers that has a combined <20 starts?
I would say that this is Fisch's identity for the 2012 offense. We were nearly dead last in plays run in 2011, and he seems ultra-determined to not let that happen again come, **** or high water. We can argue about whether or not it's ideal or whatever, but the fact is it's here and we have to hope it continues to evolve with more power run formations and under center options.
A certain segment (not me) of the fanbase has been asking to run more spread and no-huddle concepts- well, here you go. Hang onto your butts, gents.
hope it doesn't turn into grassy.. it's bound to happen though.Hopefully this is the way people can carry on debates when we lose.
Its not always about agreeing on what we see but its about respecting others' opinions even if you don't agree.
I know it was just BC but today felt **** good and its been nice getting everyone's opinions without personal insults (so far)

Price,
That's where I think there's confusion. I don't think ANYONE is upset with the increased pace. And, I understand this style sometimes implies shorter looks, but I think back to one of the greatest no huddle offenses I've ever seen (the 90s Bills), and they stretched the field in every direction. It was beautiful. ****, Leach's offenses absolutely terrorize the seams.

We don't have the deep threats we think we do. Least not yet. I really feel that's what the disconnect is, because if we had Streeter on this roster, there's no way we don't take at least 4 shots with him alone.
Im not a fan of the offense we ran today because I feel as though it really limits us in the Red Zone. I hope today was not an indication of things to come and had more to do with the style of defense BC was running.

Yep. It's the entire point of the board. And, we're going to do our best to enforce it. I've been back and forth for a few hours with FinCane, but he's offering his view, support and insights. I'm responding with what I hope is the same. So long as the "you're a ******* idiot" comments stay out, maybe we can finally have a board like the old Grassy boards. (Wishful thinking?)

Okie State had plenty of TDs that were 10 yds or less running the ball or throwing last year and I believe eight today. They are never under center.

I don't want to be Okie St. We can do better than that.
Wow......and Okie state is garbage 90% of the time minus 2 decent years recentlyIm not a fan of the offense we ran today because I feel as though it really limits us in the Red Zone. I hope today was not an indication of things to come and had more to do with the style of defense BC was running.

Okie st set records for offense last year and has had 4 or 5 first rounders on offense the past few years. I'd cut through my arm with a Swiss army knife for that.

This is the part I don't get.
So what?
They didn't even play in the championship game. That's the peak you want? Fine. Not me.

Okie state has finished in the top 10 in scoring offense 3 out of the past 5 years. They were 59th in 2009 and 22nd in 07.

Lsu made the title game. Is that the offense you want?
LOL so you guys point out one spread team that has done decent the past 2 years and that means what?
Would you like for me to point out pro style teams that have been doing good as well recently?
