Let’s play hypotheticals if SMU beats Clemson

People say this but then I have to ask what are your 12 teams then
In no specific order. Oregon, Osu, Georgia, Pedo, SMU, Texas, ND, South Carolina, Indiana, Boise St, Tennessee, and Alabama. Then if Clemson wins next weekend both them and SMU are in and take out Alabama.

After watching our defense get embarrassed on just about every series because of their astounding incompetence, I have little enthusiasm for watching us get thrashed by a playoff team. If it had to be one of the 3 I'd choose Penn State because it wouldn't be as bad as losing to ND/OSU. And people need to stop looking at our full season D stats. Since the beginning of the season, that unit as fallen off a cliff. We look nothing like we did against Florida. It's been a gradual collapse that's now fully done. We'd need an opponent as bad as Wake Forest to give me real confidence.

Also you idiots realize if Miami went to play at ND and Pedo it’s a home game for them in freezing temps and possibly snow. How has Miami done in weather like that in the last 15 years?

bama lost to vandy and lost 24-3 to oklahoma

Tennessee struggled against uf and lost to arkansas

South carolina got blown out by ole miss, struggled against mizzou and lost to lsu

Arizona state struggled against mississippi state, texas state, kansas and lost to texas tech and Cincinnati

Miami isn't this unique case in struggling with average teams

Why the **** would the committee put Miami in for losing to 2 average teams and barely escaping against Cal and Va Tech?
For starters, they already looked at the GT lose as a reasonable loss. After what GT just put Georgia through, that perception only got stronger. Syracuse is a reasonable loss. Late season, on the road, one score game....

A lot of the SEC dominance talk has cooled, so there is a chance we get in. I don't really care, though, because I think we'd just lay another egg. Then again, almost every team has laid a couple this year, so who knows?

Now list the wins those 4 teams have and look at Miami’s wins. Yea Miami’s wins aren’t impressive and not a single one vs a ranked team.

I had hope until I listened to this clip about our defense vs ACC teams:
-We gave up the 4th most points
-33% of opponents offensive drives went for touchdowns. That 2nd worst only to Stanford.
-Surrendered the 2nd most YAC

Hard to imagine us getting the benefit of the doubt with how horrible this defense is.

we can only play the teams that are on our schedule

Look at a team like ole miss' schedule and ours. If we switched what are the respective records?

If it was 1 or 2 players, I would question their ability, but our whole defensive scheme is off.
We cannot stop most teams with man coverage. Our players are left standing flat footed. We have too many penalties. Our coaching staff is paid a lot of money to be able to correct this and they can’t.

Same. It’s incredible how the fans of these other teams are lobbying for them to get in. Meanwhile, our fans are lobbying for our team to get left out.

Worst fanbase in America by far.
