Leach Gonna Leach

People that want Mike Leach for Coach would be ****ing and moaning after 5 games crying for John Gruden or whatever name is hot that week. What makes you guys think he could recruit So FL with success? He's goofy and corny. Our Defense would be even worse because our talent would be even worse. Can't see Leach going into houses in Miami and beating Jimbo, Saban, TRob etc for top tier talent. He can organize a big time passing offense and that's where his skills end. Stop it, please.

Pretty sure people was talking about when we had a chance to get him over AG. Nobody wants him now because if we have to hire somebody else we need to hire a proven coach.

What everyone who adores Leach never seems to grasp is that any time his system goes up against a good defense it can't score for ****. The mans entire career was built on running up the score on average to bad teams. He was and still is a **** recruiter and developer. How many times does the guy have to prove he sucks before you stop creaming your pants???

Just for shirts and giggles, please provide some stats showing his defense failing against good defenses as you say. When creating said list, please consider the opponent, who they are, and their availability to get better talent on NLOI day. All things being equal, your list won't show that, he wouldn't have a problem attracting recruits here like he has at most of his destinations.

When he was at Texas Tech, they were in the bottom quarter of destination schools in conferences alone. Now in the PAC 12, same thing. They aren't going to win many recruiting battles against anyone. Here, he wouldn't be at that disadvantage and surely you're smart enough to understand that, yet even with those disadvantages he's given a decent account of himself through the years. He's a wild card, very quirky, and that's why most programs have stayed away.

FWIW, the man he took over for, Spike Dykes, had a better winning percentage in the Big 12 then Leach did. Leach .5875, Dykes .5937; TTech wasn't some **** program that he put on the map.

Leach is what he is, solid coach who can provide smaller programs with some excitement and a few wins. The problem with Leach, IMO, is he is all about his offensive system and nothing else. He refuses to run the ball, refuses to put emphasis on the defense.

Now, I absolutely think his system could win big here, just not with him at the helm. Kingsbury would do very well here IMO.

Oh yeah, Mike Leach is exactly what we needed . . . goofy, shoot-from-the-hip, look-at-me head coach. And, of course, isn't concerned with the defensive side of the ball.

I see what you're saying but our current coach doesn't seem too concerned with defense either. Or he is concerned but is just stupid. Or, hopefully, he turns a sub 100 defense into a top 20 one in one season and I devour crow

I now know what the Leach fans remind me of: the Tebow fans. No matter what evidence you showed, no matter how many times he stunk up the joint, his cult would just argue that he's not in the right situation and its everyone elses fault and "imagine him with a good team/coach/coordinator".

Mike Leach is a mediocre coach who's best job prospect was the friggen Wazzou gig. Stfu about him already.

Shocking

Your analogies are just as bad as your coaching evaluations.

Our talent in Leach's system would be epic. Period. I am firmly convinced that Leach's system has not reached it's full potential based solely on the caliber of talent he's restricted to (Texas Tech/Wash St.). And for those of you yappin' about Leach's defenses....have you taken a gander at our **** lately? L-O-L

Has nothing to do with 'his system' and all to do with him making some of THE MOST boneheaded decisions i've ever seen a coach make on the football field. i swear to god half you retards don't even watch the game of college football.

Mike Leach - 13-38 aganist ranked opponents.

Makes Al look good in comparison.

At Texas Tech and Wazzu you ****ing moron.

Golden would be 2-49

He has been at Texas Tech and Washington State because programs with any pride know better. Have you ever wondered why everyone who plays for championships tries to have some kind of offensive balance?

He would come here and instantly make us MNC contenders.

Right, because our defense would be BETTER with Mike Leach. SMH. You people would be begging to get Mark D'Onofrio back.

True, but with our players on offense, Leach would be hanging 80 on everyone.

Except for twice a year when the passing game gets shut down and we have absolutely nothing else to fall back on and we lose 52-10. That's what happens to a Leach-esque one dimensional team.

This is the most unintentionally ironic post in CIS history.
