LB RECRUITING

This guy is obviously a microwave fan. He didn't know Owens, our best lb recruit since Perryman, was even a linebacker because he looked it up on Rivals where he is listed as a DB. He expects everyone to be Morgan and Williams and Vilma right away because he probably didn't watch their whole career, just their highlights.

We need to have lines and linebackers reach jr year before we make judgements. Not sure on the answer - but how many games has Matthew Thomas started for F$U? He was a 5 star everywhere. When we have junior and senior high level recruits backed up by junior and soph high level recruits (especially on the lines) that is when we should be judging the coaches.

IMO just as important as DL... Other than Perryman, we have just a bunch of JAGs..

Only young and McCray committed n McCray is iffy

Need elite LBs... On the field our current talent is lacking

This is where Bond would have been a HUGE help this year. We are thin at LB, but if we bring in all the guys we have on board right now, we should have a NICE core of young ballers, someone should emerge from that group. Figs is going to be a beast. Grace is a great young talent. Owens looks like a beast. I have hope for Blue too. Young, Smith, still have hope that Kirby can take it to the next level. In another 2 or 3 years when these guys develop, our LB corps could be one of the best in the country.

the only skills bond has on tape is rushing the qb off the edge, there is no reason to think he would have done any different here. all bond would have done was take snaps from mccord or aqm if he was good enough.

Agreed. And seeing how we seem to still be building for the future, we actually got lucky. I really wanted Bond, but I also thought we were going to be a lot closer to FSU than we are.

Im not ready to say that Bond wouldnt have helped. NEVER can have too many pass rushers. Those "almost had him" sacks that AQM whiffed on against FSU could have been had by a veteran player. And God knows we need a pass rush right now. And also lets remember that Bond would have taken snaps from Cornelius IMO on certain downs.

Anyway, if we dont get another LB commit i am happy with what we have now.. We just need to DEVELOP these guys. And continue to DEVELOP the ones we have. No excuse for Figs, Armbrister, Kirby, Blue, and Grace not to have taken another step by next year. Perryman too if he stays. (Which at this point he should)

To the guy writing off Kirby. I assume you have a personal vendetta against him because to give up on him as a Tr-So is just retarded. Vilma is who he is for a reason. Everybody cant be Vilma. Nobody knew Morgan would be THAT good until his Jr year. And Beason was showing small signs as a So. Let Kirby have a full year of exp and then lets see what happens in the Spring. Its his job for the taking after this season. No more excuses.

The question has to be would that have really helped? Would taking those reps away from AQM for the sake of a maybe sack vs FSU have changed the outlook of the season? With the way the team looks now, imo it´s better have AQM learn from those whiffs.

Maybe. But according to some posters on here the world is coming to an end because we lost to Vtech and we are not winning NOW. So I was just taking it from that perspective. I agree that in building for the future letting AQM get those snaps is a good thing.

We have linebackers, I think that is evident.

Just not great ones..., yet

If we are primarily 3-4, then I think this class is solid... If 4-3 still then it's lacking...

We lost 3 LBs in the offseason... Paul, 44, terry.... Huge hit that no one talks about

Lol, No need to show my allegiance to u..

Forgot about Owens bc he was initially listed as a Safety on Rivals

I went to school with Vilma, as an RA in Hecht in the summer where he stayed, the football ga's trainers raved about him as a freshman and yes he had an impact as a Freshman

Again of you are happy with our LB play, then fine.

I JUST DONT SEE THE DEPTH ON OUR CURRENT ROSTER?

Perryman is likely gone... So who do we have next year????

Grace and Figs who aren't even playing????? Kirby who hasn't done jack?

Then these 3 recruits?

Jawand Blue???

The white dude who's concussions, ended his career??

U guys are idiots.... Next year will be worse....

If we still had 44, terry n Paul, I would feel better...

But next year we have 0 impact, solid proven LBs... That **** TE will continue to run free

If we run a 3-4, wouldn't that mean we need more LBs (4 over 3)?

2011: Perryman
2012: Blue and Kirby
2013: Figs and Grace
2014: Owens, Young, Smith, Thomas and McCray

That's why our Smaller DEs/Olbs in this class would be adequate for a 3-4... If we were playing primarily 4-3... Smith, Thomas, etc are DEs not OLBS....
