It’s not everywhere, but focused in certain positions.

Linebacker was at least recruited in volume, but blue chippers were sparse.

Offensive line was the same.

Cornerback had a high blue chip ratio but really low volume in 2020/2021, leading us to oversign in 2022 and field a roster where 3 of the 7 corners were true freshmen.

I don't know if he'll come here but he's had an up and down career at Auburn so he may want a fresh start somewhere else. I'm just saying, he had his best season under Steele so connecting the dots would lead me to believe we may have a shot.
 
Bobby Washington is a project and Bryant is an edge rusher right now so he’s a project. Popo is gonna play next year. Keep working on stanquan Clark cause he’s needed. And get a portal guy again.

I'll admit that Cave was one of the few takes I actually liked. I thought he had the athleticism to do something at Miami. But he also seemed to have a box full of rocks upstairs. Disappointing.

The rest of that list is putrid. Hybrids DEs or Safeties, several of whom had only played rush end and other who weren't even recruited to play LB. I could see a couple like Joyner coming in as a project as the third LB in the class. But Manny said he was their top target that class, lol.

Only class I was excited about was Shaq, Pinckney and McCloud. Shaq delivered. But if we're going to be national champs ever again, he should be our floor not our ceiling. Pickney was always a little slow, and gained bad weight in order to be more durable. I remember people hyping up McCloud, then reading about his measurables in a @Lance Roffers writeup where his numbers were way below the mean. Kid actually outperformed his athletic capability. ... CIS going to CIS.

Uhhhh, no. He had 16 tackles & 22 assist at the G5 level in 11 games. 1 sack. He’s 6’2 282.

I actually meant to say G5. But I was wrong regardless. He's one of the worst of the DT recruits we've had. We just had soooo few.

Mario shoulders blame for certain things but yeah this was easily the least talented team I’ve ever seen line up here personally

And once again many of our contributors Mario had to bring in after he got here

Manny was a total bust at high school recruiting. Our portal kids have been our MVPs for years now. Osborn, King, Rambo, Phillips, Roche, Stevenson, Young, Messidor, Jackson, Parrish. We're the modern day Kansas State under Snyder without the wins to show for it.

Sad think is that Mario will need to continue relying heavily on the portal for at least another 2 seasons to get us back to respectability while he builds his team organically through better HS recruiting.

It’s clear our recruiting at one of the most positions on the field was less than stellar. Recruiting two blue chips in 6 yrs is absolutely abysmal, including one of those blue chips not living up to the ranking & now no longer on the team.
