LB Gavin Nix commits to Miami... flips to Oregon 12/3

Would you say the difference between us and a place like Texas (besides the difference in total amount) is that they if they fall short of expectation they still commit the following year regardless. It's not as transactional.

They let will the well dry if they don't support the Head coach.

They also understood and commited big $$$ knowing the move to the SEC years ago so they wouldn't end up like Oklahoma did this year. The CFP playoff trip only helped the vision Sark presented them.

Would be unfortunate (not the biggest loss), but I appreciate him sharing something.

We’re 36 hours from signing day and this please is dead. Even if there’s not a ton to report…signing day, even in the Manny/Golden eras, was buzzing.

Nix is worried about defenses. He’s not looking for a bag like that. He seems to be a character kid. Even if we lose him I wish him the best. Kid has not been a clown. Stubbs is the kind of kid who will be shaking you down for a new NIL every off season
Nix has a legit concern. I get it. Hopefully Mario is telling him the right things.

Miami fans are so short sighted.

We spend a little bit of one time have the best season in 20+ years and then ppl are saying “we are wasting money, stop spending.”

Texas and the other big schools are commited year and year out to the mission.
This narrative is a silly narrative b/c every P4 team that has a school that invests in sports is going to have $15M +/- directly from the school's budget (not including NIL) to pay its student athletes.

The new President is committed to investing in the athletic department and the amazing marketing/branding opportunities being a relevant football team provides (ie: 50+% increase in applications which raises level of students and subsequent level of admitted students which then raises the academic profile of the school).

The school with UHealth made something like a $500M net profit last year.

I like Popo. Count me out on Hayes for now. Slow.

I’m afraid the only way to fix DB is by taking 5-8 DBs. At minimum 2 corners, 2 safeties, and a true nickel. Maybe as many as 3-3-2 and tell a few to hit the portal
Hayes Too slow for the mike position?

I was worried when I saw Hayes tape in HS. he did look a little slow to me
He has a good build no diddy. Possible to use him in a 3-4 situation?

Be a shame if we couldn’t develop this is where we need the hits not misses on evals.
