This is why I never understood when so many on here were excited about what NIL meant for us. I get that we have done pretty well for ourselves so far, but it never seemed like something we could keep up in the long run when there are so many schools out there that have much larger alumni bases. Did anyone really think we would keep up with Texas, Oregon, Ole Miss, etc?

I realize that NIL is not the only thing so you still need strong recruiters and I also understand that some players were getting paid prior to NIl, but it always felt like the timing of NIL with us getting Mario stunk. Here is a coach that is known to not be the best on game days, but one of the best recruiters and NIL - at the very least - reduces that recruiting advantage.
