Unfortunately, I said we went 12-0 at the beginning of the season. I do think we will get 9 wins for sure now. Losing duke sucks. Far worse than losing to FSU.

VT - Going to be a hard ******* game to win point blank. VT +7.5, Miami by 1
Duke - Tough game on the road, Over in points. They are playing to win the coastal. Miami by 3
Pittsburgh - No game will be easy the rest of the season, Pitt +7... Miami by 5
Virginia - Only game I see us winning by a TD.

I hope and pray we can go 11-1 for our program because lord we need it to pull in big time recruits. We need to be back and on the level of FSU soon... We aren't too far behind but ****, they are our little brother.

Go Canes!

These next four games are HUGE. We MUST win the Coastal and play for the ACC title.

We're 7-1 with are only loss being on the road to team that is a top 3 team in nation. Lets rally behind our guys and win out. I know it won't be easy but we have the talent to do so.

I know losing Duke sucks but our offense, and season, is not dead. There have been games in the past where Duke either did not produce, or got injured and they won with out him. I know not having him in the game at all is completely different than him being in and not gaining yards because D's are still 90% keying on him.

Trust the staff. They will put the team in positions to win each and every game from here on out.

Realistically I see 2-2. I think we drop one to Va. Tech and either Duke or Pitt. That sounds terrible right now coming off of 7-0, but losing our best player on offense, having our 2nd-best player continually hobbled, and having a defense that plays very tough but still gives up yards by the truckload is just too much for me to look past.

On the bright side, that still puts us at 9-3 (which is where I had us in August, IIRC), most likely still in the ACCCG (I think VT has another loss in them at least, if not to us) and playing for more than pride at the end of the season for the first time in 2 years.

What happens is that if we don't try a change at QB we will continue to get similar results, with the difference being that our luck (or determination, call it what you will) will run out and we end up on the short side of the clock and the scoreboard.

A change at QB for VT does not guarantee winning out either, but it would result in a more diversified, less predictable, offense--our walk on QB's can hand off to run the ball and throw the occasional bomb to an open #1,#3,#6 (maybe not as far).

Instead of the long bomb with the spectacular catch, it would be more of a get the first downs, pick up the 3rd and fives giving the opponents less clock time to put up big yards and scores. It would take about a half a game to learn if the back-up QB can deliver some consistency.

If he doesn't the QB that "gives us the best chance to win" will have enjoyed the advantage of watching defensive tendencies from the sidelines and can still deliver his usual single ten or twelve minutes of fair (spiced with the NFL throw) performance and 4Q confident come from behind winning score. Isn't that what the true believers hang their faith on?

If and when I'm wrong the posters with unshakeable belief in Morris can claim they were right all along--given time SM had greatness all along! And, Williams will have performed in a way that coaches need not waste more time on him and instead invest in developing a better successor to SM that would not be a sea anchor to their expected recruiting bonanza.

Just a thought. Or we could, instead of chancing the accusation to not be fans, just all post GO CANES!

VT plays Maryland in Blacksburgh and @ UVA. If we lose to them on Saturday, they're going to win the division.

I see us losing one of our final 4. Not sure which but I see a slip up before the end of the season

Some of you are weak. The Canes despite not having Dorsett and Duke are better than the remaining opponents. There is a reason why Miami is favored by 7.5 points over VT and will be favored with the remaining three. It's because we are the better team!

I expect Coach Golden to have his players ready, focused and extremely excited about the mission in front of them not behind.

Go Canes!

I see us beating Va Tech, but slipping up against Duke and getting to the ACCCG with a 11-1 record against FSU.

We lose to VT we r out. We lose to Duke we gonna need help. I don't think we lose any of these four but none of them will be pretty and will take everything we got.

You're probably right, but hope springs eternal... The Coastal is GARBAGE so nothing would surprise me.

the rest of the season rides on Morris. If he plays anything like last years 4 game stretch...we win, no problem. If Morris plays like he did against UNC, Wake, and FSU...we loose 3 outta 4. There is almost no room for error. Morris has to be the man and get us on the board and the defense has to get the **** off the field.
